Didn't realize SJ was already 32.
I remember phoning up Veitchy on Radio sport questioning when it's likely the Warriors were gonna give him a go in the top grade (prior to his debut). Wheres the time gone?!
SJ is probably wondering where the time went as well

Johnson is frustrating because we have all seen what he can do, but he doesn't seem to be able to do it consistently and he also doesn't really seem to be able to do it anymore.

It does have to be said though that he's playing behind a forward pack lacking go-forward in the middle. AFB is awesome. We are missing Lodge + 1-2 others.
To me it was always the attitude towards criticism from media talent (not hacks) like Fitler etc. Had smoke blowing up his ass from a young age and got places on talent not (extra) hard work. Watched others with less talent pass him by with stronger work ethics (and better systems around him). Hell of a highlight reel though.

We have an absolute gun talent in Vailea, who finished last season on fire and stood out in the trials…and we pick a couple of fringe first graders at best in Pompey and Wiliame? New year same weird selections.

This was the standout for me. Vailea needs to play and be developed. He strikes me as another Katoa/SST/early CNK/whoever that if we don't get the best of him, someone else would.

Pompey falls into that category of 'I wonder how bad the pictures are that he has of management' to get picked every week. I don't think he's a bad footballer, but he's just so slow, and has far too many errors in his game for someone who has not much upside (only carries it forward decently).

However, us by 14. LET'S GO!

Seems weird that the extended reserves are Lussick and four backs. Where are the back-up big guys?

Two props, a backrower and a utility on the bench at least so I guess they figure they’ve got plenty of forward cover already.

I somehow missed he was in the squad. Had to google him to remember who he is and looks like he wasn't even playing last year. Did he play the trials and I just blanked when I saw him?

He distributed well (I think to Montoya?) vs the Tigers but yeah…the guy is a career fringe first-grader while Vailea is 20 and looked a cut above in the same game. I’m not guaranteeing Vailea will be a world beater or anything but since he already seemed to have cracked first grade last year, it feels like an inexplicable backward step to effectively drop him for a bit of a plodder.

Only thing I can think of is that coaching team is worried that Best would be too much for Vailea defensively (I'm assuming that's the side Vailea would've played on?) But I'm really clutching at straws...

We literally do not have any in our squad, do we? Or at least any who have played NRL or potentially even ressies. If one, or God forbid two props go down (AFB is reasonably injury prone) we're screwed, are we not?

We need to start blooding some raw guys off the bench soon. Whoever stands up for the NSW Cup or Flegg sides in the first few weeks.

DWZ ruled out with ankle injury. Cruel blow. Kosi in. Bleh.
Let's be positive. I had a nightmare the other night. We'd lost our first three games and the camera zeroed in on Andrew Webster and I thought, 'what a bloody nightmare for him'.

It can't happen.

I think this 17 is our best one, and we have to keep playing it to win games. But when there's an injury, we'll be forced to do what you're saying
