We've seen two trials and, tbh, it's been positive enough. What are we looking at here-

1- Nicoll-Klokstad
2- Watene-Zelezniak
3- Walker
4- Vailea
5- Montoya
6- Martin
7- Johnson
8- Fonua-Blake
9- Egan
10- Ale
11- Ford
12- Niukore
13- Harris

Res- Curran, Afoa, Barnett, Lussick

The other option is to put Niukore in the centres and bring Sironen in. I was definitely over Sironen last year too.

Johnson looked lost. Forwards went well.
Still a lot of work to do.

I thought it just looked like his combination with CNK had not quite clicked yet and his kicks weren't quite pinpoint. But all of that is understandable. It's what trials are for.

I've always looked at him with rose coloured glasses too though, he definitely needs to improve.

Johnson looked rusty but improved as the half went on I thought.
The difference in class once both sides big names went off was telling.

You reckon? I Thought he went alright, kicked decently, took a few runs too. Played a lot better opposition today then the halves did last week.
I must of been watching a different game

His kicking was shit. Didnt find touch, usual bomb to nobody kick and wouldnt run the ball. I would have Volkman and TMM until Metcalf is 100%

Cant believe people still want to persist with SJ when hes been trash for so many years.
We have to move on as a buisness

Not sure how long he holds his spot, 3-6 weeks at a guess, unless massive improvement.

We all know he never reached his true potential through a combination of his coaches and his perceived attitude.

He is held to a higher standard than a young guy coming through and learning from their mistakes.

Wasn't it SJ who told Mohawk what he (SJ) could do for his team?
Mohawk must have believed him.

Didn't realize SJ was already 32.
I remember phoning up Veitchy on Radio sport questioning when it's likely the Warriors were gonna give him a go in the top grade (prior to his debut). Wheres the time gone?!

I reckon 20165 and 2016 he had the best squad HE HAS EVER HAD assembled around him. Did really good until he got injured.
Downhill ever since and this season would be one of the weakest he has had around him.
His time is over
Bring on the young guys

Honestly I still feel sorry for SJ in terms of the amount of his career that’s been wasted at the Warriors because of coaching/club bullshit. He went great in his debut season under Cleary, then copped the Bluey-Iro-Elliott-Cappy-Kearney clusterf**k, then came back to Nathan Brown coaching a side playing out of Qld. The fact he’s managed to have 2-3 good seasons out of that mess shouldn’t really be much of a surprise.

The try when he scored through three tacklers but busted his ankle, he was at peak, and then a long slippery slope to hopelessness. At least that's how I remember it. His time is up.

Johnson is frustrating because we have all seen what he can do, but he doesn't seem to be able to do it consistently and he also doesn't really seem to be able to do it anymore.

It does have to be said though that he's playing behind a forward pack lacking go-forward in the middle. AFB is awesome. We are missing Lodge + 1-2 others.
