Potter was a young man given a chance in FG,it's a pity he doesn't follow the same policy instead of picking hacks that are bog average at best!

Potter deserves cred we are playing hard. the man has earnt the right to pick plodders.
We have to upgrade the squad for next year especially in the outside backs. i'm lost with selections of Lulia, Luiani, lawrence and before last week anasta.

If Gus is commentating this game I can't watch it.
He will jizz on about Sunday afternoon footy at Suburban grounds with his beloved Panthers going around.
All we needed was Benji and Gus can complete his orgasm.

Potter takes his plodders to a new level, without doubt the most uninspiring team ever put together.I have said it many times,Potter picks teams that will bore the crap out of people. We all know he had some issues with injuries etc but this team is a joke

oh, we have had worse.

far far worse.

Lulia, luani, Buchanan ffs

Buchanan and Lulia were the nsw cups WORST players last week and they get rewarded with a first grade gig

Awesome example to the rest of the squad

If I had to guess, I'd say that this is a team selection based purely on salary cap restraints. I'd imagine that despite being backup players, Lulia, Luani and Buchanan are all considered to be part of top squad for salary cap purposes. The Tigers were already talking up salary cap relief for Fulton, who wouldn't be taking up much of the cap anyway.

I'm not so sure Fordy

Last year we needed to get approval from the NRL to use a 34th player (Brooks)

We've used 7 less players this year.

I think its more a case of Potter wanting to create stability around Brooks, by not shuffling around (or bringing in new players too much.

Such a stance has its big pros and big cons. Our position on the ladder thus far would suggest its worked more than it has failed.

Our points conceded would suggest the opposite though.

I reckon early in the year Potter wrote out a list of players in order of his preference and has just stuck with it. There doesn't seem to be too much structure in terms of "we need 3 props and one utility" or "two back rowers, two front rowers" etc.

It's just a list that shuffles up and down.

I'm not confident in this team selection but I was not confident we would be 6th on the ladder in f**king July. Keep the faith guys

Geez, that pretty much blows my theory out of the water, unless bringing a player into the top squad would put the total amount of player wages in the top squad over the limit, but it seems unlikely with Benji off our books.

You've gotta hand it to Potter. He's faced with some tough decisions and he's made some unpopular choices, but given we're only two points wins away from the competition leaders, those choices appear to be paying off.

I think after Tigers and Panthers dramas last year with the second tier cap, the NRL changed it to make it more accommodating for this season.

He just seems to stick resolutely to swapping players with others in the same position this year. It's like he's asked everyone at the start of the year "What's your preferred position. Please name just one." and bang, pigeonholed!

we've won ugly a few times and we've won tough a few times. It's a good platform to work off.

We just need some more creativity at second receiver and we'll be a much slicker looking outfit.

I'd have Moses and Lawrence on one side and Simona and Brooks on the other. Moses is able to give Lawrence some space which he has been screaming out for, for a few years now.

Lol giving Lawrence space.... you couldn't find enough space for him in a sevens tournament .

That shows the over reaction we have to team selection sometimes in here. That said I rated Pearson while Senter, O Neill and Galea were good players for us. Laffranchi was ok too. Problem is there is no superstar forward with those guys and the bench is god damn awful. The less said about the backs the better. I would have started Withers over Tippett.
