C'mon, down 26-0 at the break? Only if every single tackle Sandow attempts and misses ends in a try. And if that happened we're screwed anyway. People like to point to his missed tackle stats, but what they don't point out is that he's very often the first guy chasing down the kicks. When he 'misses' the tackle in that situation he has at the least made the attacker run sideways, and it's not costly to us. And one good game in five? Dally M is severely flawed but you still don't make the top 10 by playing one good game in five.

But I agree, if Sandow is not the answer then find a solution elsewhere. But Kelly it ain't, and playing him today was not a good decision.

Seriously, can Peats be manufactured into a halfback? Then IDG at hooker.

If not, if Foran or Norman goes down next year, what do we do?

Seph, Matterson or Kelly?

If it's Matterson, blood him this year instead of Kelly

Luke Kelly ran the ball twice. Twice! f**k me dead what a cat. Has a first grade player ever missed more conversions than times he got tackled with the ball?

In the loss to Brisbane Sandow ran the ball once. Once! Is he a cat too? Or a double cat?

He missed one conversion. So he's 100% on this new and innovative performance ratio.

I thought Pauli was good today. Seriously, if he can string some games together in the top grade and get used to playing a defined role, he could end up one of the games pre-eminent props in 3-4 years. On physical stature alone I think he demands Re- signing. Have to remember he's still very young for a guy playing his position.

I obviously wish injury on no player, be they an Eel or opposition, but in a way I would welcome IDG having to sit next week out. I'd like to see something different on the bench but I fear it will just be Captain America and he'll be as meh as IDG has been when injected from the bench this year.

Junior Paulo will be on the bench next week dude.

I know he isn't ready but nobody can tell me Bevan French would be at least the equal of Reece Robinson at fullback.

Um no. read carefully. I said has a player ever missed MORE conversions than runs. Kelly missed more (3 misses 2 runs). Sandow equalled (1 and 1).

You don't think that a bench of Fa'aso, Pauli, Jnr Paulo and Terepo is a bit 'top heavy'?

One other thing - Hoppa needs to lose that ridiculous 'jump step' when he running at the line. Has that jump step worked for anyone since Karmichael Hunt in like 2008??!!

I read it. The idea of comparing missed conversions to times tackled is quite intriguing. You could also measure the difference between a forward's number of ruck runs and penalties conceded.

And the number of missed conversions can't logically increase the cat factor. ;-)

Full disclosure, I haven't seen the game yet. But I think we all know that Kelly is a limited player, and if he plays to those limitations he won't be running much.

If a forward conceded more penalties than ruck runs he would be dropped for sure! Unfortunately Brad Arthur will persist with our reserve half who can't run the ball or kick goals

Woeful first half - guys like Watmough and Mannah should be ashamed given their status of forward leaders. Dropped ball, too many turnovers, silly choices, no threats in the opposition 20m zone - lucky to be only 12 points down, even though we looked to be hanging in there with them.

Good fight back after half time, which tells me that the coach is having a positive influence on this bunch of rabble. Semi had a bit of shocker too, just too many errors. And don't get me started about Mannah's poor carry that resulted in the death of our second half momentum....

If only De Gois didn't get injured, I'd be benching Watmough next week. With Junior Paulo due back, I would be benching Mannah for sure. I guess that means one of Fa'aoso or Terepo drop back down?

Who do we bring in for Hoppa on expected Origin duty? Folau or Bureta?

I don't think he should, but there was an article suggesting Daley will pick him on the wing over Johnston...?

Hoppa seemed to swap with Morgan quite a lot today, maybe to get a feel for wing again... as if he had been whispered to by Daley?

I guess the only thing he's got going for him at origin level is incumbency from a winning series, and versatility - in case of backline injury he can slot into fullback, centre or wing easily. A specialist winger may not look as attractive to Daley, even if such a player would be better in that position than Hoppa.

Hoppa was good today, he had one beautiful pass with would have been a try but Morgan bombed it by not being in position.

NSW selectors and Daley are bonkers if they pick Hoppa anywhere in their backline. I reckon Matt Gillet and a couple of other QLD forwards are quicker than Hoppa...

Not really, Hoppa isn't going to be brilliant, but he won't f**k up on the winger - will make good metres and score if the opportunities comes. Origin is all about minimising mistakes.
