The Comic Book Film Thread *** SPOILERS ***

Loved Thor Ragnarok. The only negative was the soundtrack or lack of. It started so well with Zeppelins immigrant song going in the opening scene but it seemed like that was the only song they used. But I guess it would then have too many comparisons to Guardians

I thought it was a good fun popcorn movie

Lots of laughs and Hulk and Thor worked great together

But not as funny as deadpool

Different humour to Deadpool. Imo was just as funny just in a different way. Deadpool was able to use the R rating to its advantage with the humour. Thor was just silly funny and a lot of it hit home as it had a Aussie/kiwi feel thanks to the director.

Cate blanchett stole the show for mine. Korge was awesome, but she just hammed it up so well

Yep. I was hesitant with her being cast in this but she was excellent

I’m cautiously looking forward to JL.... i was shattered by SS but WW brought me back.

I’ve figured out that it’s best to just buy a big popcorn... grab a big coke, sit down and just enjoy it for what it is... 2hrs of fun.

Sometimes I reckon people worry too much about comparing to other films or previous versions of the same characters and just don’t enjoy for what it is...

Exactly. They're comic book movies FFS.

i'm super hesitant about justice league because batman v superman was the dreariest, bleakest, most un-fun comic book movie you could possibly endure.

I didn't mind it tbh. Wasn't great but seen worse though it was a let down.

For mine Suicide Squad was the worst in a long time.

batman v superman wasn't the worst comic book movie i've seen (batman v robin, punisher:war zone, superman III, superman IV come to mind) but geez it should've been at the very least fun to watch. say what you will about the marvel studios movies, at least they're mostly fun/enjoyable to watch.

batman v superman put me off going near anything else dc/warner bros is putting out.

For anyone hesitant about Justice League, I'll use the same four words to convince you that were the actual pitch for this film:

Jason Momoa as Aquaman.

Fair enough, Wonder Woman gave me hope that they can do an entertaining flick.

I’m a bit over comic book films due to crap like Bvs S and SS but will go to the ones thta seem to get good reviews still after all the initial hype drops off. Thor is an exception as I love Wilderpeople and liked What we do in Shadows.

I'm a bit over comic book movies from DC because apart from Watchmen and the odd Batman flick they are all complete rubbish.

Some of the Marvel ones are just as bad but the Marvel source material is that much richer and deeper.

I'm biased for two reasons:

(1) I love Aquaman - he's my favourite hero

And

(2) I love Jason Momoa - he's badass, suave, charismatic...he's awesome

I also love Batman, but the opportunity to see Aquaman on the big screen played by Jason Momoa is unreal!

Humour is subjective

No doubt Ragnarok was funny, I just personally laughed harder and more often while watching deadpool

Could I take someone who hasn't seen the other Thor's or Avengers and they will still understand the story?
