How can the Rorters even approach him with 2.5 years still to go, let alone why would we even consider letting him go. In 2021 Johnson will be 33, Chad around 30 - surely the club couldn't be stupid enough to let their ready made replacement walk out the door?!?

Well, that is the only way I can see it happening. But I don't see what swap could work.

We would have to offer them Kyle's rookie money due to a tight cap, and the only players we really could use are one of their surplus wingers (B Moz? Bringing the brothers together?) who would surely want better than that, though I guess we could get a deal with freight thrown in (cause the Roosters have plenty of spare cap space for doing that sort of thing....).

Not sure why the Roosters or Kyle would want that so badly this year, with him no more likely to play in the top grade with them than with us, unless there is more to Keary's injury than they are letting on.

The other reason it would be a bad idea is if the Roosters are that desperate for a half for unknown reasons, then why in the hell would we help them this year when they are one of our main threats?

Or is this all talk aimed at getting us to decide firmly on Johnson or Flanagan for next year so the Roosters can pinch a replacement in 2020 for Cronk? Are the Roosters playing us to build their 2020 squad?

The weird thing about all This is that Flange snr signed the lad for 3 years plus he signed SJ for 3.
His plan was to move Chad on?? Or maybe he didn't think FJ was going to be ready to be a permanent first grader.
There is no way I'd be letting him go before June 30. No way.

Buzz hinting that Kyle has a get out of jail free card from his dad getting moved on. If that is the case, I guess no swap needed, all the Roosters have to do is offer some mullah and we probably can't match it.

The "promise" of more first grade is then a bonus. Hope it isn't true. Or his desire to play with Nikora, Williams, Brailey (and Brailey?) et al is strong...
