Quite amusing or sad that Rugby Union sycophants are so insecure about their own sport they need to join League Forums. The same insecurities that has seen some RU authorities from allowing Rugby League to compete on an even playing field as highlighted in this thread.

There are plenty of rugby league supporters on rugby union forums, mate. They are not sycophants, just people who want to talk about sport from their own perspective. Having a different opinion from you does not make another person a sycophant. Just because Te Kaha has a more balanced view of some of these issues than you do does not make him a sycophant.


If rugby league got a properly financed international body, which was empowered to govern the game - including setting the rules of the game as well as laying down an international schedule and eligibility requirements - that single act would do a whole lot more to advance rugby league's international cause than anything else. Do you agree?

But how could that happen? It would require Australia to make some sacrifices for the sake of the game. No chance, eh?

Blaming "rugby union authorities" might make you feel good, but frankly a bit of pain is usually what is needed to break new ground.

Because its on free to air, compared to pay tv? England playing at the FIFA world cup got up to 22m for one game last time out.

Both the soccer and union ratings you brought up were on Sky Sports or BT (pay tv). Soccer/union ratings are higher than RL. Though SL rates as good as Aviva on Sky Sports.

And no one has not mentioned the games were on pay tv, yet that's about the 4th time you have dragged it up. what's your agenda?

Of course there will be supporters of other codes in other forums but real fans usually have some sort of complimentary attitude toward their sport. If their only agenda is to continually slate the sport or some may call it a 'balanced view' in the respective forum they're leading a sad and forlorn life.

I have never stated that Rugby Union was the sole cause of why Rugby League is not bigger but it doesn't take much common sense to realise that it was definitely hindered by the practices of some RU authorities. The RFU still to this day perpetuate lies in order to further their own cause, using a bogus claim that Touch footy was conceived from RU on their website.
