Rugby Union is the Rugby code of choice in Japan because it was being played there prior to Rugby League even existing and was subsequently introduced to the universities. The exact same reason why Rugby Union is more popular in most places around the world. You have looked to find a globsal conspiracy when there is a simple explanation

These two major factors have limited RL growth on a worldwide scale. An awareness of the repression needs to be addressed and an improvement of administration for the benefit of the code is overdue.

Would love to see a day when most private schools around the world would offer both RL and RU as the field dimension are the same and the ball is very similar. It's amazing that RL is not widespread in such schools in this day and age! Although we have people in high and influential places not allowing RL to be accepted into such areas. RL is a real alternative to RU and RU people in influential positions are doing there level best to limit and stop the existence and growth of the game around the world. In this comment we have a motive and we, as has been shown in the many contributions in this thread, evidence. But you 'denial 'people will have nothing of it as I think it really does challenge your 'establishment 'view/comfort zone of world sport. Especially a very outdated form of 'rugby'(RU doing its level best to stop the more attractive and enjoyable form of rugby) in RL.

Simple mathematics will show you that on average any game of RL will have 500 to 600 tackles compared to RU that is lucky to reach 180 tackles. Keeping in mind that each tackle equates to a ball run. If you transfer this math to on ball action then RL wins hands down as a far superior form of rugby. It is by these very figures that RL is prone to be much more entertaining and easier to follow than RU. Please let the real/genuine RL supporters get back on this thread as the bullies are having their cowardly shots at the game and on people whom a re purely informing.

Provide evidence where principals in private schools are denying the game of rugby league being played.

Rugby doesn't count 2nd. 3rd and 4th man in as a tackler. Also union has a competition for the ball after every tackle (maul or ruck), league doesn't.
