lol, thanks for voting for me guys. I actually did think of running, but at the end of the day I decided not to. The U20 job is more tempting for me, and I'll probably run for that either next season or, more likely, the following term (three seasons from now).

I do encourage everyone here to jump onto the Oceanian conference and read all the election threads. There really has been a disappointing turnout in a lot of previous elections, so it'd be great if you can all read them and then vote for who you think is the best option. There are a few good candidates this time, foremost amongst them Hover, Envelopes, Nightw0lf, placebo and TerjeH (sorry vesh and corbin, but you're not really experienced enough for the job).

won my opening league fixture 4-0 today in quite convincing fashion. there is one side in my division that i just can't see myself beating, but the rest are fair game, especially the 3 managerless sides. second is definitely within reach

i also have $1.96 million in the bank now, which is really awesome. after my cup match that will crack the $2 million mark. then with a little luck i can finally purchase my outstanding striker that i have been dreaming of buying for a such a long time now...

I picked up a 4-0 win in my first game back in Division V, got an away game against the team most likely to win the division next week, so it will be an interesting test.

I got screwed by the match engine. Won the midfield, by defence was stronger than his attack, and my attack was stronger than his defence. End result = a 3-2 loss for my first match back in Div IV. :(

And the next two weeks I play the top two teams in the league, so I could quite easily have a 0 and 3 record after three matches. Not the start I was looking for.

In other news, I'm selling the trainee I bought from Corbin a while back:

Thomas Papamattheakis (48038249)
TSI = 2 130, 20 years, solid form
Has
disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities

Stamina: poor Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: passable
Winger: poor Defending: excellent
Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: inadequate

He's listed for 800k and bidding will finish tonight about midnight. I've also got an 18yo formidable defender going at the same time (my own youth pull from last season) for $2m, if someone here is training defence and feels rich.

I won my first match 4-2 (away) in Div IV (IV.40 - Tassie Devils). I'm pretty pleased with a win against a side that held more than 60% possession. This is the second time that I've been able to successfully win a game by pressing against much stronger opponents and I'm starting to believe that midfield is no longer the be all and end all.

Having said that, I'm a PM trainer and I might have a re-think of my training strategy at the end of the season.

Also scored a 18yo double solid (scoring and winger) in the weekend YP. He was listed at $0 and is currently only up to $14k if anyone is interested.

won my cup match today 5-3 against a pretty ok div V team, i was surprised to win actually, but its great! in front of a sellout crowd of 20000, i took in 190k for that, then i should get about 300k on sunday if its a sellout, than another 190k next weeks cup if weather is good and it should sell out.

ahh, i'll wait to see who i play, but i'll probably end up leaving next week, but i spose maybe i'll get lucky with the draw.

ahh i'm happy after that!! great stuff vikings!

i've drawn a div II team, so thats a bit crap, but i spose it was always on the cards since my team was ranked so poorly.
so i'll be out after next week. but i'll get a bit of much needed cash so thats ok.
atleast i will have matched last seasons cup effort, i might have to PIC it aswell, so its not quite as bad, i think i've got too many members for it to affect my crowds too much. so it'll be ok.

I won 10-1 and have a fairly strong Div V team next. I was hoping for one more week where I could play my 'B' team, but looks like I'll have to play the 'A' team to ensure I get the victory.

Drawn a team with twice the hatstats that I got in my Cup game (and that was my highest ever). Don't think I have much chance, so will play my B Team in that game to get their experience up and play the A team in the league match (in another match I have zero chance of winning) to try and stop a goalfest.
