So in brief, Union is better in your view. Kirwan was younger than Platt! Yet Kirwan was washed up but Platt should have been in his prime????

Korean was extremely hyped in 95. His name was mentioned as much Bell, Platt and Ridge

No.

Kirwan was cut from the All Blacks in 1994 and knew he was washed up and wouldn't make the World Cup team. He joined the Warriors as his superannuation scheme and did as well as anyone expected ie: what Graham Lowe called a 'workmanlike performance'.

Platt won the Man of Steel award in 1993, was named the second top front-rower by Rugby League Week (behind only Glen Lazarus)...then came to Auckland and contributed NOTHING.

Big difference.

Smartest thing Popeye has ever said.

On Andy Platt, he was highly rated in the UK and came down to NZ for a holiday on massive coin. He never had any interest in contributing, and neither did Denis Betts. Platt had a clause allowing his bulldogs to be flown over from the UK a certain amount of times a year for god's sake.

And anyone who reckons Hindy was a perennial plodder should get hold of tapes from around the turn of the century, then make comment based on fact not what they've seen lately

Thanks for the compliment but forgive me if I don't use your name as a reference

Gordon Tallis was an overrated scrub whose career highlight was dragging 20kg Brett Hodgson over the sideline in Origin,id like to see him try and drag a 100kg Hayne Plane over the sideline

What a cat

Agree

I've never got why hodgson thing is looked at as some kind of god like strength. Hodgson would be lucky to weigh 75kgs. Also 99/100 that's a penalty, but hey different rules. If Tony Williams did it to Luke keary no one would care.

Matt cooper pulling Chris McQueen back from scoring in like 2011, now that was something

If Lame Hayne ever came across Tallis on a football field he'd jump on a plane to go play some sissy sport full of padding and helmets.

Oh wait...

Steele f**king Retchless won the Man of Steel. It's about the same kudos as claiming that you are a City Country Rep

Nathan Hindmarsh - the only player in NRL history to average 40 tackles and 100m a game in a regular season, and with a career just under 100m a game. Third most metres gained behind Mini and Gallen.

Hindy=legend. You= not rated.

Tallis was a good impact player, but definitely one of the most overrated players in the game. To be fair he had a few highlights, especially where he hit people when they were not looking.

Over his career (even not counting the year he was out), he would have spent more time on the bench than he did on the field, I just can't rate a forward with the work rate he had.

I also don't understand how he thinks of himself as one some moral high horse after the shit he pulled with at George

Tonie Carroll probably wouldn't have played so much rep footy if Lockyer didn't need someone to protect him in the front line

Dale Shearer was seen as overrated in club football, played for 7 different clubs 5 of which were hoping he would replicate his Origin form. Wally Lewis never won an ARL GF because he never played for an ARL club while he was at his peak, by that reasoning Cronin was overrated whilst first playing for Australia
