At least 60 k to this.
Friday night indicated the kind of number Parra fans will be rocking up in, but that's against the Titans who nobody really rated anyway, against a huge *ss rival I have no idea.
That's not taking Dogs' fans into account!
I'm thinking this game could bring out a lot of old school supporters that haven't been in a long time.
Is this the SpikeTV game?

Well i just got back from the dogs team store and apparently the sides are gone. Also alot of people were buying a bunch of tickets, some up to 100 and most were walking out with at least 10 or so.

Great news - interesting how publicity builds momentum. The NRL should market its games much harder next year. The potential for crowd growth in the NRL is huge.

I've heard that on the grapevine too, no idea where though either.

I'm very disappointed in the NRL's communication with the NSW Govt (two organisations as incompetent as each other)... it would be very easy to prove the event will surpass 40k in numbers (the required amount for free transport to be included in the ticket), yet the Govt won't announce it til later in the week. Surely it'd be better for all involved if they simply included it from the get go? Saves NSW Govt keeping tabs, gives them more time to organise. For the NRL, it enhances the crowd number as those worried about transport won't have to be.

Also ridiculous that the general public cannot purchase tickets until tomorrow.

More than 55,000 fans have snapped up tickets for Friday night’s Telstra Preliminary Final clash between the Bulldogs and Eels in what will be a record-breaking finals attendance.

Tickets went on public sale today with more than 12,000 tickets sold in the first hour, following on from the more than 7000 tickets sold over night during the MyNRL members buying window.

Fans continued the ticket rush throughout the day and, with corporate and stadium member sales included, as of 5pm today 55,200 fans had snapped up tickets for the ANZ Stadium match.

The biggest ever crowd to watch a finals match in Sydney is 57,973 set in 1963 between the Eels and St George at the SCG.

“There’s still plenty of tickets available but the message for fans is to get in now and secure the best possible seat,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said today.

“This is going to be an event all Rugby League fans will want to be part of.”

Tickets for the Bulldogs-Eels match are available through Ticketek on 132 849, at Ticketek outlets or online at www.ticketek.com.au.

More than 17,000 tickets have also been sold for Saturday night’s Preliminary Final between the Storm and Brisbane Broncos at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium.

Tickets for the Storm-Broncos match are on sale now through Ticketmaster by calling 13 61 00, online at www.ticketmaster.com.au or at Ticketmaster outlets.

Sorry to put a dampner on it... but i reckon 55 is including the 18k members meaning that 37k has been sold to public... a lot of the members may be RU and AFL fans who may not show...

The back of the season has seen some great crowds in Sydney and hopefully the trend continues into the new year.

Good work Sydney, you really showed everyone the passion for rugby league is still well and truly there.

To be honest I don't think Brisbane could pull a 75k crowd for a prelim final (if we had the stadium). So congrats.
