Another opinion MITS of the way people feel, or as you put it - a cop out.

Instead of trying to defend the club as you do, suggest to them that they get on here and read these threads before the election.
On the other hand, maybe it's too late to change the opinions of some.

Suity

No Suity, you firstly rolled out their opinions as "Facts" but in reality all these people are saying is that they want more from their club then they are getting and pointing to conspiracy theroies as to why things are the way they are which is also the impediment to their request. To me, yep they are a cop out.

Raudonikis's message again talk about this mythical agenda. I would love for someone to tell me what it is. I believe everyone thinks it is to make as much money for the Directors as possible and to never lose their jobs while the Parramatta club flounders year after year.

Do the clubs Directors and CEO have an agenda, I can say with certainty that they do. It is to make Parramatta the best club going in the NRL. In every way possible, and to do so responsibly.

During this thread, the continued approach is that it should be easy to get in, change the club and get out. That is something I wholly disagree with. It should be hard. It should be difficult. You should have to actually do more then pay $25 dollars to convince everyone that your right and things should change. You need to come up with a convincing reason, and an alternative. Merely pointing to the problem and having a sook won't get things changed, nor should it.

Does the club structure make it overly hard. To some, maybe. I personally don't believe so. I know how to push for change when I want it, I have done so in the past.

The overarching theme of the Truckies push for the removal of Fitzgerald, as well as according to Terry Leabeaters letter for change is to see the club continue. Fitzgerald article in April this year has zapped the hope out of Parramatta's supporters and along with the performance this year, have raised causes for change out of concern the club may fold or *gulp* merge. Most here would agree with the actual fact that the clubs communications with its fans and supporters has been poor. The Last really well communicated piece of information came at the 2007 AGM with Fitzgerald's speech. I had an opportunity to speak with Denis about this concern, and that was my main point, increase communication and give the fans clear path for the future that we can all strive and work toward.

If that happens or not, who knows. I am of the opinion it will.

The issues we speak about, I wonder in reality how big they are with the supporter base outside this small 100 or so regular contributors on this site.

Do you think with the Season Ticket Holders that having the NRL campaign being called Membership and the Club selling Season ticket's matters that much to them?

Do you think the Proxy voting for the 669 members of the football club rates a mention at the members kitchen tables?

Do you honestly think club structure at Parramatta concerns the bloke working construction, when he is on the job? Or even better when he is at home watching a Parramatta game?

I don't think so. What I think they are concerned about is having a successful Parramatta Eels club, which can deliver the glory they so desperately seek.

I was once told when I spoke about the semantics of the Parramatta NRL / District Club Structure that 99% of eels fans don't give a sh*t about it. All they care about is winning a first grade premiership. That is a nice goal, something we all want in the massive church that is the Parramatta Eels. But there are other activities they club participates in and I am concerned with those as well. Others may say they are as well but don't see them coming before a First Grade Premiership. Which I also agree with.

Now if you all think, changing the name of season tickets and having them offered from the football club, so as you can all vote is going to win us a first grade competition, I think you have another thing coming.

I also think that if you believe winning a first grade premiership will happen if we allow proxy votes, for football club members, I again think you have another thing coming.

If you think the club structure which was in place for 2001 and 2005 is the impediment to our premiership success, again I think you have another thing coming.

Lastly if you believe the reason for our lack of a premiership is because, of the CEO and the Board of directors. You certainly are within your rights to think it. But what happens if we do win a premiership? Will you congratulate the board, or will you congratulate the players. What will you do then when the Election comes. Will you see change for change's sake.

Suity, I know a few members of the board do read what happens on this site from time to time. I have heard tell from one of them that read the Join the Parramatta Club thread after the AGM to see the reaction to my report. During his reading there were some allegations made on this site about Denis Fitzgerald and children. So I guess you can see what sort of opinion this message board would be held in after that.

and if someone takes 1 comment of 1 fan to heart then they must have very thin skin and are probably in the wrong job.
Rightly so if it was removed... but f**k, I thought they were men.

I think you are looking at it from the wrong angle Hellsy. I don't think they had to much of a problem with it, apart from it being slander against the clubs CEO. But it paints the board as a place that is to be taken with a grain or in some cases a pitcher of salt.

Yet if they took the time to sift through some of the rubbish they would see that despite some opposition to the contrary most people on the forum have genuine concerns about the club.

Most comment, be it in the media, on this forum or via a letter to the club should be considered with added salt - both for and against the problems facing the club or coming from it.

That is the problem isn't it. Sorting the Wheat from the Chaff or as some Mailing lists use to call it the S/N ratio or signal to noise ratio.

It is. But if they are, as you say they are, passionate about the club then they should be willing to sift and see what the general consensus is. Comments, no matter how they are conveyed are often valid or a great gauge of the feeling amongst supporters , even if they may not be as informed as some people may like.

Abso-f**king-lutely. With examples like that, I think the long bow is being drawn.

What did you say about the duck, Colonel?

MITS, tbh, having read all of what you have written over the past few days on this bulletin board, with the explanations that you are providing that are both your opinions and things you are being told, I think you are doing the current regime more harm then good.

Then Suity, in all honesty I will shut up, because I don't need your static all the time.

Seriously.... I guess this is why they heavily moderated the official noticeboard to the point where it shut down

Just one last one before I finish.

Who is saying they don't? Not me. That is your intimation. I am merely stating that the reputation of internet message boards is not the most credible in terms of information.

"Membership" was never part of the report, the report focused on extra curricular activities apart from NRL games where the fans could see the players. It also spoke about different flavours of supporters clubs like regioneels or the old eelite club, and then the clubs website offerings.

:? Then why were we looking at membership packages for comparison at the time???

It's called a love/love relationship, with a little bit of hate thrown in.
We'll meet at the end of the aisle one day, don't you worry about that. Even IF the 6 kids are tagging along, we'll get there.

I have read this 3 times so I can make a fair and honest reply.
Honestly....... 3 times.

Sorry MITS, but that's the biggest load of sh*t you have ever written.

Suity

PS. Just in case you haven't noticed, have a look at the consensus of replies on this topic atm.
Seriously, most people think the club and it's board really suck.
I don't think you have done a lot to convince them otherwise.

Agreed...I only read it twice though!!

Without trying to make it seem like a personal attack MITS that post really is clutching at some very thin straws. You do (in other posts) make some decent points but overrall your posts read like biased spin doctoring. You couldn't toe the company line more if they typed your posts for you. At times it gets to the point of defending the indefensible.

I have to say that from where i sit this is getting pretty personal when all we want is our club to be successful on and off the field. In saying that - MITS i would love to know where you get your information from. I am only new to this forum but i like the fact that fans can have an opinion - and you have to have your heart in it to bother to comment on the site. In any case i look forward to seeing you all at the AGM. Go PARRA! :)
