This is 100% true. I heard the gameday announcer on ground say it when mentioning gypsys farewell game there. I was thinking when i heard it that i had'nt heard it anywhere or seen it on here at all prior. Herbert and Garrick will be fair losses but who could blame them. Sele could still be anything if given more of a chance.

Sele has played very well in ISP this season.

The suggestion that he has had enough FG to prove he is FG material is laughable.

Garrick is not going to play FG at any major club in my view.

Herbert has improved significantly in ISP over the past 8-10 weeks. He deserves a shot.

When you have a back line of Flo, McDonald, Lafai, and Aitken playing week in week out, a guy like Herbert has a right to feel he hasn't been given a serious shot at FG this season.

Hence if another club offered him a FG spot, you could hardly blame the guy for leaving. It is our loss really.

Sele is no loss IMO, he’s had enough chances to cement a bench spot and has been underwhelming each time, lacking any urgency or intensity in his game - we already have enough of those type pretending to be first graders.
The others however haven’t had a chance so I don’t blame them for seeking a chance elsewhere...

Your right! Given that you and I can see this and most on here would agree with you, why in hell couldn't Mary see this. I'd say Sele go the best run of those coming through while the likes of Herbert and Lomax were largely overlooked.

Mary lacks judgement and the ability to think logically. And after facing the same problem - failing mid season - for the past 3 seasons, he repeated the dose in 2018. There is no solid reason why Mary's contract was extended or why he should continue to be our coach. There is only one reason I can think of and that is that our club is rife with 'old boy' corruption. The question is, are we now going to turn the corner and get rid of rott, or is Johnstone also part of the 'old boys' club.

Only that it was Sele’s spot to lose and he lost it. I expected more from him this year but many players have a down year and then make it back to the form expected from them.

It all depends on who they are up against. He’s not as versatile as Ford or Host and I’d take Lawrie at 8 and 13.

I wouldn’t underestimate how hard it would be to keep Leilua and Host behind Sims and Frizell. We already made the early call on Thompson.

No doubt the Board and Mary will be having crisis talks about how they turn this around. Probably wrapping up about now with no solid ideas. Then they'll have drinks. After a few beers it won't seem so bad. A few more beers and nothing to worry about, the trajectory is up. A few more beers and hey we've got this.

If you're a young guy being kept out of first grade by quality or Origin players (e.g. Our first choice forwards), I think you could buy in and bide your time.
When you're parked behind blokes like Nene, Aitken, Pererra, Nightingale, Lafai,etc. then it's an easier decision to go looking elsewhere.

Worst for me since the early 60’s , a lot of years have gone bye since then , a lot of Dragon teams and players , but each and every one of those players AWAYS put plenty of effort into their games .

When beaten , you were beaten by a better team on the day but the Dragon sides of the past pulled themselves together to give their best for the following week . Not these blokes though , there is just no pride in the team at the moment and I cannot see any light at the end of the tunnel until 2020 and that is some way off yet .

But back to the subject at hand , should this story be true it will certainly be a waste of some fine talent that a good coach would had brought into the top grade side and developed .

What about the second half of the 1975 GF ? Players nearly puching each other at half time !

Have just read that Hame Sele, Patrick Herbert and Reuben Garrick have signed with other clubs due to lack of first grade opportunity. Jai Field also wants out due to lack of opportunities and Lomax signed only a 1 year deal as not happy either.

Fair enough if the L plate has lost the dressing room, however in reality there are only 2 games to go. If he hasn't lost the room he may as well finish the year.Just as long as he's gone as soon as we are out.

Only just in from an agent supposedly in the know - Mary fighting for his coaching life as of tonite - Ian Millward could take over effective immediately till end of season as dragons try and save rest of season! Unbelievable as it may sound I’m thinking there is some merit in this rumour. We will know true or not by Tuesday!
