maybe a 2 year deal only see what happens as we have just re signed reed and expect him to be starting in 27 (maybe) or 28 100%

Savala could become a 14 if Reed comes through. Could play 7,6,13 & possibly 3,4?
Atkinson to 1 could also be an option.
Anyway it’s a moot point because we won’t sign him.

Surely Savala saying he’s testing the open market is to drive up his value. Why not wait a year potential play 14 while DCE is there and walk straight back into the 6 jersey the following year when he would able to join another club anyways. Can’t see him leaving the roosters

I honestly thought there were two or three people in front of him. But his efforts got him there and credit to him, that doesn't take away from the fact he was a disruption to the team dynamic and needed to go. Wasn't worth the hassle, imagine trying to coach the guy? Flanagan literally put him where he was most effective and he still whined the entire year, and that was AFTER getting rep honours.

A lot of posts on here about Kade Reed and how highly people rate him. I haven’t seen him play and tried to look on YouTube for highlights. Has anyone got footage of Kade playing?

o We dont have a decent finishing winger in our squad.. but Sloans inability to finish is next level, you never want Suli to put him in a contest with the touchline.. always better to take the tackle.. you use Sloan in open space, speed is his skill, and pushing through contact has always been his weakness.

Note: We need to fix that asap, wing is the easiest position to recruit, its crazy we have guys like CT, Lawson, Sloan, Feagai as our best options.. I think Fale may be 1 winger.. Williams maybe debuts late in the year 'if' hes healthy.

o Suli brings physicality, you can work around him, but we also need to find someone better when we can, you can have more than just 'hits hard' in your outside backs.. and that man is Heidke btw, 'if' he can catch a break with injuries hes everything you want in a right ctr.. so many points come off him, pure class the way he cuts through the line... good in the air.. solid enough physically.. he doesnt have a contract currently however, we need to sort that... tbf though injuries 2yrs in a row are whats held him back.

o Savala, I think it depends how much Ando/Flanno rate him.. if were ready to go all in, we would surely be one of his only real options.. if we're on the fence.. then I dunno if hes taking a gamble on us.

Savala is a tricky one. Obviously the k8d has talent and does have a massive boot that we need to get us down field.

However, does he really want to play for another team?

Saying he'll 'test the market' 'in no hurry' etc doesn't fill me with confidence of someone other than a mercenary.

You can watch jersey flegg highlights on nswrl.com.au. Pretty much anything good that team did came off Reed. He played SG Ball at the start of the year so you can watch some highlights of that comp too.

If you look at how the Storm, Roosters, Broncos etc. operate, they always have more than one half developing. Then it's a case of may the best man win. We've fallen into the trap of putting all our eggs in one juniors basket before and come up with zero. The cream will rise to the top when it's ready.

I just don't think he has the passing game that a first grade centre should have.

Yes he has other strengths which are valuable like his carries and his defence, which is what I like about him, but his ability to create space for his winger is short of where it needs to be for a first grade centre.

That was my point. Simple.

Shereb man looked great at junior level.. came through with Coric, Amone, Sloan, Sullivan etc.. but never kicked on.. was a total waste of a NSW Cup jersey for years.. look I hope for his sake he was just a late bloomer (some players just need time), but these articles talking about young guns.. are rarely based on literally any knowledge of the player... that includes the ones we've just bought to the dragons in recent weeks.

NickT btw is a completely different animal.. completely.. got fire in him and runs over blokes.

Shereb was pretty lazy imo. Nick T is a competitive beast like you've alluded. He's also been effective in the centres. Imo great bench player.

No need to rush Reed. Atko might bomb it in the halves and potentially move to fullback. Savala is a talent and fits a need for this team. Bring him in and let the best man win.
