There's something rotten in the camp somewhere

The fans have every right to be pissed off and the only thing Dufty should post is an apology for the performance of himself and the team.
For some time now I've called for Lomax to replace Dufty at fullback.
I hope Herbert gets the left centre position and Lafai is moved to right centre.
Put Field on the bench with Host, Latimore and Lawrie.

Dufty is a big concern. His confidence looks shot.
He only played 60 minutes yesterday and was a revolving door in defence and very predictable in attack.
SDB and Graham are the ones that need a spell.
Pick the team that can do a job against Newcastle.
Play payers in their specialist positions.
Herbert
Lomax
McDonald
Mann
Pereira
Field
Hunt (c)
Friz
McInnes
LAM
Sims
Leilua
Host

Latimore
Lawrie
Robson
Sele

Graham at starting prop with Ah Mau to the bench and drop Sele, swap Lomax and mcdonald and I reckon you could be onto something.

Field did look confident on Saturday...

The article above is a bit of a joke.
What do players like Dufty expect after that performance. I don't agree with any abuse being hurled at players and their families but surely they don't expect to be clapped off. A bit of booing is fair game when you offer that performamce to your fans, its roar emotion at the time. Dufty cknes across as a spoilt little brat with such comments above and it's a pretty big turn off. An apology to fans would be more appropriate but with attitude like that from him and the players, they can get stuffed. They will lose their most important aspect- us supporters.

I have mates that work in the industry and they have been saying for years that working with St George is a laugh. All the other clubs, barring Manly, have professionals in important positions including membership, marketing, sponsorship..... St George is still an old boys club that refuses to move into the age of professional sports management. Too many jobs for the boys and they aren't up to it and the results feed down the line from there.

Until St George catches up to everyone else, they'll always be a laughing stock. Doust actually has golf days written into his contract, from what I've heard it's a condition that he plays on Wednesdays. What the f*ck is that, seriously.

We finally get rid of that clown and shock horror, Brian Johnstone. Another job for the boys.

Well played, Brut 33 all round!

I have no issue with players being booed etc. however nothing should ever be personal. Doesn’t matter how much they get paid you don’t make personal or derogatory marks at individuals.

In England, the new manager at Leeds United (soccer club) found out how much tickets cost for a game, got information on how much the average person has to work to earn that money (answer roughly 3 hours) and made the players pick up rubbish for 3 hours to show them the value of the tickets. - that’s what our players need.

It’s frustrating from a fan perspective, are we better of booing and showing them exactly how we feel (in the game) but then supporting them out of the rough patch.. or just abusing them, which risks those players becoming discontent even further and potentially makes the problem worse

Some good points. I personally never abuse any player. It takes guts to play this game, and playing FG is as tough as it gets. Sure, you may question whether someone has the ability, or someone else is better, but anyone brave enough to lace up a boot should not be personally abused.

This does not apply to coaches...

I agree.

Having said that, I believe it is acceptable to question the level of effort individuals apply on occasion and yesterday was one of those occasions, considering the circumstances of the day...

I agree.

I don't think any level of criticism is off the table.

I just draw the line at personal abuse.
I agree theres no room for personal abuse or collective abuse......theres a difference between booing to show your displeasure and disappointment in your teams performance but verbally abusing players or a player when they are walking off is another....

Question fpr my learned colleagues
If Duffty was benched for an attitude adjustment then I ask why havent mcdonald lafai aitken been dealt the same punishment ??? or does mary find it easier to deal with a 20 year old kid than a seasoned first grader ???? If Duffty has such a negative influence and is obviously the reason behind our losses why oh why didnt herbert or lomax get a start on the bench .. and with aitkin going off the kid would have got 60 minutes instead of the usual 3 or 4 As everyone has stated yesterday was abyssmal

I saw an interview with Lomax post match on Saturday and he said he was struggling with regaining his match fitness post injury.

Perhaps if he is still struggling with pace of reggies then that is why he has not seen any first grade yet...

Craig Bellamy was very clever months ago when we beat them. Came out and labelled us as “the benchmark”. He never actually meant that statement but he knew our players were dumb enough to start believing their own hype. Then comes Origin and most of our forward pack gets picked and that hype continues to go to their heads. May, June, July premiers. Since Origin, we are easily the worst team in the comp, literal wooden spoon material.
The players didn't believe it, it was the smug smiling coach that believed it.

The players aren’t tanking, they’re not betting on games, Hunt isn’t destabilising the team and Dufty isn’t a shit player. The players are low on confidence, they’re all busted and overworked, Hunt is headf**ked after Origin and the relentless pressure, and Dufty is an undeniably talented player who is playing like a kid who read his own press and bought in. Mary needs to drop Duff, put Hunt at hooker, rest a couple of big boppers and for f**k sake, attack in numbers around the ball.
Yeah right....not.
However, the final 2 lines makes sense.

The first part is bs, we are no different to every other half busted team.
Except they perform.

Blow me off if you want but give me 13 Kurt Manns to start the game and sit a couple more on the bench just to cover those that get weiry. Was gunna say the Dragons need an attitude adjustment but ive been a member of a team beaten 85 - nil so some of them were trying.

There were a number of non performers yesterday, with the exception of Friz, Periera and McInness. However, I though Aitken, MacDonald, Dufty and Lafai were all poor and didnt show any signs of effort. Mac Donald in particular should be dropped, however he is likely to survive given injuries to Aitken and Nightingale.

The forwards are just cooked. I’d give them all a week off in a desperate bid to have them fit for the first final. Concede the game to Newcastle we can’t finish top 4 now anyway.

My team:
Dufty
Herbert (f**k MacDonald off regardless of injuries)
Lomax
Lafai
Pereira
Mann
Hunt
LAM
Robson
Latts
Leilua
Sele
Host

Field
Lawrie
Kerr
Allgood
unfortunately, only Jesus could turn this around.
And he has far better things to do.

It’s goodnight Sam.

If I were Lomax I would stick to that story to avoid being coached by the bald headed dope
