The comment from memory was from ONE person who said AFL COULD carve out a market. It won't. Why? Quite simple - even for you.kids and schools, it's the only way! That's were it all starts and that is where we really need to keep our focus. After that it is corporate $'s, we need to make sure our game is the most attractive to businesses and that means a clean image, decent corporate facilties at grounds and strong National media coverage. Finally making sure fans are engaged. Interesting to see some comments from residents of Blacktown in that survey feeling the area wasn't supported by Penrith or Parra and therefore an AFL team would carve out a market.
THER IS NO STADIUM IN BLACKTOWN AND ANZ IS FURTHER THAN PARRAMATTA OR PENRITH!!!!!!
If that has no impact on you, consider how excited you would be if the following press release ever emerged from Gallop's desk:
REDS BACK FOR 2012
The NRL Board has decided to re-admit the Perth Reds into the National Competition for 2012. NRL CEO David Gallop said that Perth was neglected by other sports and the city would embrace the NRL and become a Rugby League powerhouse. The new club will train at MES stadium, and play all of their home games out of Brookvale Oval.........
