to be fair I'm pretty sure even Trent Barrett could've won a few premierships with that Canberra side of the 90sSheens out of the four clubs he coached in Australia only has a winning percentage over 50% at Canberra and barely over 50% overall.
Pretty amazing for a bloke with four premierships.
yep from memory the new CEO tried to make Sheens accountable for the 1st time in his career and Sheens was having none of it and managed to get the CEO sacked.I wonder if this contract has any KPIs?
IIRC he had a hissy fit when they tried to put them in a contract a decade or so ago.
wouldn't look out of place as deputy premier just sayingGets appointed as Head of Football
Has a review
Sacks current coach
Takes up newly vacated coaching position
Sheenius
how is a guy who hasn't coached in the NRL for a decade and then failed in the UK even an option let alone the best option? I know the tigers aren't an attractive destination but the optics of this sort of move doesn't make it any more enticing for anyone potentially wanting to go thereNot such a crazy move. No one wants to touch the Tigers with a ten foot pole. He is probably the best option who would actually consider the job.
Its just a two year deal. In that time they can hopefully get some fundamental stuff sorted and put themselves in a position to find a new coach.

Surely Green, Flannigan or Seibold have experience and would be better long term options than the old fella? Its not a club for an inexperienced coach. And the vast majority of experienced coaches available won't touch it.
True it doesn't look like an inspired move. But putting in Kimmorely who will most likely fail doesn't work either.
