Time for Moylan to 5/8

I take great enjoyment in watching the Dragons suck and he's been one of the main reasons.
Im very rarely wrong about a signing I think will be bad, the last guy I can remember surprising me and actually being good was probably Nathan Smith

Who do you want as hooker if Wallace is injuries or his performance drops off?
IMO Rein will take over from Wallace as our number One hooker during 2017.
2016 Wallace is so far beyond what Rein is capable of. We need to buy another hooker imo. Have people not watched Rein? He's an awful passer of the football

after say Round 10 Soni Luke. Injury has put him back a bit but he's the final piece of the puzzle

only had 20 mins no glaring errors. played a big part in their last try. He's a support running 5/8th rather then a ballplayer. Wouldn't surprise me if he and Moylan changed roles during the game

TMM is the best young ball player I've seen in 20 years. He basically got back rowers and centers junior rep jerseys and senior contracts purely by constantly putting them in holes. Then when they got to teams without him there people saw they were actually bog average.

I didn't see much of him for Penrith last year but it was always his kicking and game management that needed working on.

Fortunately Cleary's game management seems headed well and truly in the right direction, pretty handy kicking game as well. The ceiling for a Cleary TMM halves combo is ridiculous. Early days yet of course, hopefully they kick on a bit quicker than Brooks & Moses, time is running out for that pair I would think. Tough gig though, neither of them really had anyone good to learn from.

Well I don't want to derail the thread however both Cleary and TMM had a hell of an easier passage into first grade then the tiger boys. TMM had two full season between NYC and nsw cup then a full off season with first grade. Cleary came into a team with internationals and origin players. Brooks and Moses both came into first grade after a knee and shoulder reco respectively. Brooks hadn't even played nsw cup and missed his first 3 pre seasons with the NRL side due to off season surgery. Moses was 19 and came into a side coming 15th with a 20 year old halfback, kurtis Rowe at fullback and a centre pairing of Keith Lulia and Cory Paterson. If Cleary or TMM came into the Tigers teams of the last few years I don't think they would have fared any better.

I agree with you. My last sentence did say that they had far from an ideal start support wise.

Cleary I think didnt have it all cruizy either as a 7. Although as much as most of us didnt rate Wal in the halves having him on the field would be a calming influence on a young half. TMM had the luxury of a pathway through cup & Sowie taking the pressure off. Moylan obviously takes a bit of the pressure away in attack as well. Where they both stood up though compared to Brooks/Moses is defence. TMM in his few games looks a bloody good defender. Cleary more than holds his own as well. Its a bit of a shame Wobbie didnt have it him to guide your boys a bit more. Hopefully they reach their potential this year. Whichever of them plays next to Idris will benefit greatly, If his head is back from the mountains of Nepal, he is my pick for the best signing of the year by seasons end.

Great to see Moyza at the first training session for the year, looking really fit. The whole squad are looking pretty buff, Tamou, DWZ, Cleary, Peach.

I think it moved.

not derailing the thread at all. TMM is the only one that will stop Moylan from being 5/8th

Our biggest problem isn't a player issue, it's how we're perceived by officials and the NRL.

It doesn't matter how well we played against Canberra, we still lose that game because of how rules were interpreted differently to each team.We lose that game because the referee is someone we have a 28% win rate with, and haven't won an away game under since 2009.We lose that game because we are seen as minimal or lower threat when officials have to come up with a 50/50 decision, so more often than not it will go against us.

Maybe it will decrease as someone like Moylan will start to gain a Thurston-like presence amongst referees. But one thing's for sure, we can have the best 17 players in the competition yet it still won't be enough when we have to overcome wrestling with the ball, completely avoid it when defending and still manage to beat a top side, especially in the finals.

We could have won that game if we'd respected possession in the first half. Getting 18-0 down against good sides doesn't win you many games. I agree Cummins was appalling at the finish but we shouldn't have been in that position in the first place. There was no uproar about the last 10 minutes, even from our club, because Canberra were the better side for the most minutes and appeared to deserve to win. We were just denied the chance of grabbing a win we didn't deserve.

The sort of thing that happened in the first half of that game happened about a dozen times during the season, including the week before against the Dogs (who did play their hand pretty well early on). Or if the first half was good, the second wasn't. Only a tiny handful of times did we put 80 minutes together. I hope the coach is addressing this problem.
