It's like the facebook posts where Karen tells everyone how her 5 year old schooled their GP on the dangers of vaccines and now that GP doesn't offer vaccinations anymore.
And how did you reply?to Quote my 9 year old ‘What does girls kissing have to do with football’
And how did you reply?
By 9 the majority of kids know about same sex couples, my daughter does and she is 6 and has for a couple of years. Does not the fact that same sex couples are allowed to walk around the streets together provoke the same inquiring? or are you just uncomfortable with answering what is quite a simple question?Should parents be explaining homosexuality to a 9 year old? If not, should an ad or any tv show on during prime time be accepted, that provokes them inquiring?
I’d say no. It’s not the appropriate place for it. Hence it shouldn’t be in the ad. You can welcome lesbians without showing them making out on your ad.
*what makes YOU tune in every weekend. You don't have licence to assume everyone's the same. And as @Frailty has pointed out, if the ads showing big hits and great tries were such a hit why haven't attendances etc increased?
This thread proves one thing RL is inclusive...unless you have a differing opinion

No one has kicked you out of the sport because you have a differing opinion! You are free to play and support the sport, people are allowed to disagree with your opinion though as you are free to promote yours! This thread proves one thing RL is inclusive...unless you have a differing opinion
How does Macklemore, The SL stuff etc make a kid choose to play RL over soccer or something... or make a person decent to fight peak hour traffic in the middle of winter and attend a game?
Should all kissing be banned on telly during prime time, or just the kind you find awkward?
Look I'll admit I'm not much chop on seeing blokes having a pash on telly but thats my problem and not a big one. I don't appreciate those hetro couples who suck face in public either.
Think of it this way if TV makes SS couples "normal" your kid will never think to differentiate the genders involved and you won't have be scared of questions you find awkward.
But it is different because same sex couple were treated differently in this country until very recently. The actions of those girls would have been very much discouraged until very recently. That would be a good thing for your daughter to learn, that as a society we are at a point those actions can be celebrated in a television commercial for a national sporting organisation. The NRL was very public in its support of same sex couples, why should it now hide from that fact? Why shouldn't the NRL celebrate it's involvement in what was a nation defining moment? She knows about same sex couples. Just not what makes them playing football so special.
I’d rather her treat everyone equal.. as such explaining why someone being gay doing something is different.
it doesn't but thats not the point, the obvious message is non discrimination and multiculturalism among other things are part of our sport

Yet those sports let the players not their personal lives sell the sport. The product alone is good enough
