Disappointing to lose a player who has been at the club since 2003. But he has been average at best for the past two seasons, and I commend the club on cashing in on a player performing below average. If only the same could happen to Denilson, Almunia, Eboue and Bendtner.

I'm not convinced that Gibbs or Traore can play consistently good football over an entire season though. Some have suggested Vermaelen moving to LB, which would only be possible if another CB was signed.

Does this confirm that Arsenal is City's feeder club? Vieira, Toure, Adebayor, Stuart Taylor and now Clichy?

Although if Barca beat the world to Sanchez, I can't see them paying 40m for Cesc without doing some housekeeping, and vice versa. Even if it did happen, Arsene would replace Cesc and Nasri with Barton and Parker.
