Trivia Night

I don't know about Suity but I am old enough and ugly enough to know that when you are catering for a diverse group of people there is no such thing as a perfect time for everyone.

And when someone shows the initiative and effort to put on a function that is broadly supported and enjoyed, and fosters the emerging spirit of the new face of our club like this, it would be petty, mean-spirited, and immature to put on a hissy fit about how it didn't suit one particular individual.

That would tend to come across as self-indulgent, or possibly even agenda-driven.

That's where your wrong. Not only myself but others who have attended this event have said it was difficult to attend due to the time. Others have said they didn't attend because of the timing. Now I believe you will find that these views are shared by a number of people that do not work in and around Parramatta, if and when they were presented with the details of this event.

Indeed I just spoke to a fellow employee who works with me, doesn't much care for league or anything like that. Who when told of the start time and location of the event, agreed it would be difficult for anyone working in the City to get to. Now I agree you can't please everyone. But surely a move of one hour could please a great deal more.

Also I would like to point out, as I have said previously, I was more of a chance of going to ANZ on Monday to watch the game, but ended up going home to focus on some health issues so I would not have been able to attend even if it was moved.

I want to make a complaint on behalf of all nightshift and evening workers out there who also couldn't make this event.

in future I expect an 8am start...

Stupid Club

Why couldn't they cater for you Staggs

You need to email the club and advise them on this

It's simply not good enough

i didn't see you there chicken?? What table were you on?

I was down near the back. Table 17 I think. TBH I didnt see any of you guys either but that is possibly because I was so focused. It is possible that I was more focused on the bar but that is open to debate. The steady stream (should I say tsunami) of people getting photo's and autographs from Jaryd and Dan Mortimer who were sat right near me also made it tough to see anyone or anything

So once again it could be improved, and 7pm may have been ideal not just for other fans but it would also work in with those that had kids.

How about we put it in the clubs written newsletter first. then we can work on the Paper if need be but given this was a members events, and members were the only ones invited, I don't think there is a need.

No, as I said simply change it to 7. We are talking about an event here and not an Open training session. Surely that one hour is not to much to ask or plan for, with the feedback from previous events, indeed it was bought up during the election.

Next year, plan ahead and put it on during the bye weekend, surely this is not much to suggest or ask for.

Then we will have to agree to disagree. The events started to happen as soon as Mr Hill was appointed and Mr Mitchell left to head up Western Sydney Academy, before the report hit his desk. Plain and simple facts.

Turn up in 3 Tuesdays time I will introduce you to a few. Indeed I will introduce you to a few on Friday night if you want. There are plenty, and I think it is folly to suggest otherwise.

Ok MITS, you win.

I dont need you to introduce me to the people who couldn't attend because the time didn't suit them or they dont have a computer.

Who the hell would u expect the club to cater for people who dont have a PC, ring 3,700 Season Ticket Holders????

C'mon mate your being a bit unfair about all this.

Mr Mitchell left when MITS???

We are not blind champ, these things have started happening since the new board and Mr Osborne have taken over, I'm not to sure how much more convincing you want to realise this.

Stop sitting on the fence MITS and move forward.

Lets say the event was 7pm and went till 9pm, would the people who have vent their frustration to you regarding this pathetic effort by the club to cater everyone a better option?

Actually Jodeci, some of these things started happening when the old board realised there was an election to be won. ;-)

I am sorry, but first you said you weren't arguing with me about this and now i win, how does that work?

I would expect the event to have been publicised in the clubs written news letter. Is that to hard to understand. The same as I would have expected the Season Ticket Holders Forum to be, which it was but the News Letter arrived to late for a large number of STH's to know it was on and attend.

Hopefully next year we can plan this events many months in advance and give people Proper notice, that is all I am saying.

Mr Mitchell left at the End of July, Events started happening in Early August with the Stadium tour, the Fan Forums and the Post Match function and players signings at Harvey Norman and Stanhope gardens.

As Suity has corroborates this, happened last year, but as I have disagreed with him on the motivation.

I don't understand what you are saying here, but I would think yes, if it went from 7pm to 9pm, it would have helped a larger number of people and if it had been in the written newsletter, I think more people would have known about it and might have been able to attend regardless of the time.

thats what I thought, so whats the problem. What about the people who wanted to attend but there was no more room.
Next time it should be at ANZ stadium at 7pm :sarcasm:

Was being used at the time,

However these is a set of Dining rooms their that can house 800 people sitting, with a Bar and Coffee and the works.

83500 capacity?

That should just about cater for all the people who don't have internet and who didn't recieve a paper notification, or those that work in the city.

Great idea mate!!

I may have also made my way to the bar a few times - i was hoping it would make me smarter! (turns out, i was just as wrong, but twice as loud!)

Did you have Dan on your table? He's a great guy, hey??

Dammit! Next time you see us / i see you, we are so saying hi! :fist:

Speaking of getting there from the city.. I work in Smithfield ok pretty close to Parra I know 2 people who work in the city and they both got there before me so it seems you could've made it if you wanted too..

More people couldn't have attended anyway as somebody else said it was full..

People quit arguing/whinging whatever it is you are doing in this thread.. fun was had by all that could attend.. whatever the club could do in the future right I really could not care right now because for now I'm happy with them.
