good show imo

im over the hammering that gallop receives, Ritchie carried on like a twat

Agreed, you've got the NRL CEO on the show, some massive things coming up in the next few weeks inc TV rights, expansion, season kick off, IC etc etc and they spent 95% talking about player stuff ups. Pretty disappointing really.

It's a joke that these shows persist on trying to turn sensationalist print journos into Tv stars.

Ritchie should never go near a television camera again. He should stick to the telecrap where he belongs.

This is where a bloke like Chippy would have been perfect.

I realise the first episode of a new show is difficult, but I thought it was amateur hour. The fact that they can only show very limited current vision will make it tough, hence the plea to send in videos ( the Blocker stuff with the footy was embarrassing ) & rants from mobiles.

Also, a lot of mistakes due to poor ( or no ) research about players & even a coach by the panel made the previews awkward.

I thought The Game Plan was absolutely fantastic! Great mix of mostly serious footy discussion with a pit of humor courtesy of Blocker. I was going to write an email to One HD to give them some positive feedback but cant find an email address anywhere...

One small thing which was a bit ordinary was how they had David Gallop isolated on a high chair while the rest of the panel had the security of the desk to sit behind. It was an awkward look and I felt for David being so exposed.

Apart from that small complaint, great show and Im really looking forward to One Game at a Time on Monday.

Wonder where Peard lives. In the shire, house backs onto a footy field. maybe down at sylvania with the rugby field?

Seriously, how does Ritchie still have a job? That 5 minute shows how embarassing he can be.

My respect for Gallop increases when he has to answer to guys like him.

Unfortunately, Ritchie is a sad reflection of the quality of journos who cover league now. Throw in Rothfield etc. and it is pretty pathetic.

We used to have some incredible journos in our game, Frilingos, Ian Heads, Neil Cadigan, Tony Adams ......

Agree with all the comments - Ritchie was the only negative, they shouldn't have any print media journos on the show. They aren't experts but seem to think they are

for the record...
8:30pm start in Adelaide!!

I could hardly believe that I was sitting down watching some RL during prime time as it aired!

I thought it was a good show...lots of talk about league as opposed to skits and giggles. Id settle for that every thursday at 8:30.

I know, wasn't it great to see Rugby League on TV in adelaide before midnight!

I've sent a letter to Channel 9 telling them how pathetic their coverage of rugby league is and CC'd it to David Gallop. See what response I get.

Same with me in Melbourne it was great to watch something Rugby League at 8.30.

Especially on One HD which previuosly should have re-named itself to AFL Vision. I reckon that 1 hour of league programming is more air time for league than every episode of AFL(Sports) tonight combined.

One thing they have to be careful of is straddling the line between educating people about the games history (which is important) and having it be old guys lecture us on how "it was better in my day, we were tougher in my day etc.".

Im mid 30's (Gen X) and I found that tedious after a while, Gen Yers will switch off in droves.

You could see the look on Ritchie's face at the end of his segment that he knew he'd f**ked up.

Exactly. I lost interest during the retirees lunch segment.

Apart from his tie, Gallop presented himself well and gave good solid answers to every question and wouldn't let himself be talked over. Great work Mr. DG.
