I don't know, would have to pay something, dream is to work for Cricinfo or Wisden or somewhere with similarly amazing cricket resources to draw from. I want to compile the more obscure kinds of statistics, those which are not currently accessible.

I am not all that interested in making heaps of money, I just want to get by and be happy. I will also write a few books, might make some money off those. Also might not. If I marry a rich guy, then I'm set, but I won't pursue that sort of thing

They denied my request to defer today's exam the f**kers :)

Will put in for special con for all three tomorrow instead to see how that goes.

i wouldn't have thought a cricket statistician pays all that well?

Would be nice to get paid to watch and research cricket.

If Hal gets to live his dream I for one would be somewhat envious.

Good luck with it mate.

you must be blind then. I am hoping to use my being female to help me get a job in that field (I'm even prepared to use my big boobies to help me if I have to)

Even as a joke that's not funny, pretty chauvinistic thing to say really. Using your sexuality to get a job is a cop out. It's like saying you don't have the or knowledge, to get by.

No you shut up, it's a geniused thing to say, people using their sexuality to get a job is something that could cost you in the future you realise. How would you feel if you lost out on a job to someone less qualified than you just because they put out or wore a tight fitting top or whatever?

It's a serious issue with our society, it degrades women and men.

it's not my sexuality, it's my appearance, there's a difference and anybody wanting a job where they will be seen has to expect their appearance to be regarded

Oh dear #-o... She was obviously joking, but hey by all means, go on a rant.

Yes but joking about it still perpetuates the stereotypes and adds to this whole mentality that women use their sexuality to get ahead in their jobs. That's what I am protesting here, too many men seem to be under the impression that chicks don't earn their promotions or their jobs. Why make an affordance for that type of mentality?

If you're going to get insulted at everything that perpetuates a stereotype I suggest you get off the internet.

how can they deny your request? you had a very valid reason.. i would be seeking higher authority if you end up getting a poor mark because of it

A few reasons, very black and white interpretation of it all. I will take the extra 5% that comes with special consideration if they give that to me. If not, it's not a massive deal, I won't get what I wanted but its one of those things that happens when you have kids while at uni.

I won't make a fuss about it, unless I happened to have really f*cked it up today of course :)

yeah I had my first fail last year. there are a few of us repeating from last year in what was already a small class, lol.

I have to do 5 next semester as well but that's my own dumb fault for not fulfilling graduation requirements sooner.
