How did the great Jeff Robson go
he was our best player for Wenty tbh...
How did the great Jeff Robson go
Your defensive line speed was excellent and reminiscent of the Roosters in there former glory days.
So...
Hayne went well @ 5/8th...no hang on, he was crap.
Finch steered the team well......no he was crap too.
But Grothe went well....... when he wasnt crap playing crap as well.
Keating was OK, when he also wasnt being crap.
Tautai cant pass.
Ben Smith limps.
Feleti was ordinary...when he wasnt being good?
But Hindy is a legend.
So the best thing out of the game was the final score.
FMD I cant wait 4 the Warriors game so I can get an idea.
f/t Parra 18-10
Good hit out, Hauraki played well but hands let him down a little, running angles etc as he did before Hagan
At the end, Grothe forced error with big hit , Hayne picked up spilt ball and ran 80 mtrs to score.
Much more ball movement than under Hagan, coach has apparently told them to play what is in front of them a lot more.No injuries, Ben Smith moved to 2nd row when Jono Wright came on, defended with venom.
Will get a review from Stagger , he will no doubt update fully later. Did comment that we wouldn't have beaten a top four side, need to improve in final execution as splits made weren't converted.
NYC a little disappointing, won the games that mattered, NRL and the Junior reps that were for points, Stagger suggests that NYC could be a lean year, need to watch that grade closely as there is a lot of pressure on the coach.
Careful, forum police are monitoring every negtative thing said about Burt.
tbh, I dont think it made too much difference with two referees. There were times where they were quick to make a decision, but I suppose thats what happens without the use of a video ref. Lets see how it all goes in Round 1, however it wouldnt suprise if coaches starting complaining about it early in the season.
Just on Parra's performance, I thought their defence was quite impressive, especially out wide with Ben Smith and Eric Grothe. Tautai looked pretty good in the centres as well.
One thing was Parra's problem last year was their goal line defence, they would either stand back and let the attack come towards them or rush up too quickly. A lot of the tackles were timed perfectly.
I think they'll need to improve their attack, Finch look lost on occassions, in fact he looked injured, however it looked alright when Keating came off the bench and played in the halves.
Hayne played ordinary at 5/8, tried too much, however Im sure he might do better at another shot, but after last night he's not a 5/8.
I was quite impressed with Mannah, Hauraki, Broderick Wright and jonathon Wright. Does he normally play in the centres?
Well then its good we have a backup if something happens in first grade
I went to the game last night and this is how I saw it:
*Hayne very average at 5.8 but will get better over time
*Attack was fine, it was little knock ons that let us down and halted our momentum, 2 tries were bombed
*Defence substantially more solid, one try concded were from a stupid kick by Hayne
*Hauraki looked 5 times better then 2008 player
*Mannah looks very, very promising
*Line speed was very quick
*Scramble defence was excellent
*Grothe and Ben Smith defended excellently together
Overall, if we can fix the handling errors I think we will be a Top 8 side for sure this year.
LOL, though I fully agee with all your sentiments, you know what its like around here Hellsy, just wait till we suffer an actual loss in the season proper.:crazy:f**k me. I don't know if I can handle being a member on here this year if this is how it is going to be every week.
