A few points here, we will soon know if this is a set up to get to Cowboys in 2020, Cowboys still have a spot open and will want to get that sorted in 2020, or they wait for Val to change his mind and join them.

He has no chance in NFL, these college kids have played years know the game backwards, and dont care who they play for, Val will want a so called glmaour club or one he thinks is, i cannot see Val wanting to play for Detroit, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, he will want more Dallas, New York teams.

And yes Val has a chance in USA, in 2020 the XFL kicks off, best chance for Val is there, gimmick player will draw some eyes for a week or so.

That's on Felix. It is possible to use phones for voice calls and texts from the States. If he contacts the club from there before he gets back he does the right thing. He didn't, so he did the wrong thing.
