No doubts Bears handing over the club to WA would bring many benefits. But only if its handed over, anything else becomes an absolute sht show down the track that just isnt worth it.
Nothing stopping a bid from here having the bears as it's mascot, totally independent of norths.

It'd be protected in same way redcliffe stopped the GC using Dolphins all those years ago. And TBh good colours but sht logo. There aren't and never have been any Bears in WA!
Depends how closely you copy the brand TBF.

In theory you could keep it close enough that it could confuse people without it being similar enough that it infringes IP laws. You could, for example, call the team the Grizzlies, Bruins, Ursa, Sun Bears, etc, create a logo that's aesthetically different from NS, make some minor changes to the colours, and get away with a bears brand without it being the Bears brand if you know what I mean.

IDK why you'd do that in Perth's case, it's not like they're going to fool anyone who matters into believing they're affiliated with NS, nor do they need to be fooling anybody anyway, but you get the point.

You could but it wouldnt be taking the Bears brand, itd be creating something new that was like the Bears brand. And as you say why would you? I remember when Bradford Bulls changed to that brand and Chicago Bulls went after them and Bradford had to pay them off. Despite being a different sport in a different country, all be it pretty much the same logo and name.

The Phoenix Suns did the same with the Townsville Suns.

I thought wiki snobbery died in around 2007 but you always want to prove your superiority - u protest too much.
Where did I say Perth was poor?! Sydney then Melbourne are by far the most lucrative markets in Australia, hence the limited sponsorship money eagles & dockers get in comparison

I protest against stupidity or dishonesty and to be fair I am not having to try real hard to prove my superiority here.

Also, I’m nowhere near protesting as much as you seemingly are doing about the idea of a Perth side. For some reason it really makes you unhinged and make ignorant or mendacious comments

In posts (not quite consecutive because you were blabbering about a Queenslander played for Norths 100 years ago) you inferred that Queensland is travelling better economically than WA (false), you inferred that AFL went to Gold Coast because it was more lucrative (sure that and the fact they already have two sides in Perth), that Perth isn’t lucrative enough (only probably one of the richest parts in Australia so sure) and that North Sydney is more lucrative than Perth (in isolation you are right but when you already have nine sides in Sydney not a chance in hell)

Seriously mate give it a rest. We know that you don’t like the idea of a Perth side, notably because you have created multiple threads on the subject. Notwithstanding, don’t say stupid things.

Hypothetically a team could have a brand and aesthetic that would fit perfectly and be highly successful in another market.

Take the GC for example.

I think most would agree that Dolphins would have been a much better fit for them than Titans is, but Dolphins was taken off the table unless they were willing to take it to court (maybe they beat Redcliffe, but they wouldn't have beaten the NFL if they challenged it, which they probably would have).

They could have pretty easily come up with a way to have a dolphins brand without it being a carbon copy of Miami's, and which could have avoided a copyright claim, and that probably would have been a better outcome than the Titans brand.

All I'm saying is that though it makes very little sense in the context of Perth and bears, it is possible, and could be something worth investigating for other groups.

This is the most pointless & boring line of chat on this forum

If you say so, but personally I find it much more interesting than your endless flood of inane and dishonest BS on subjects that have been discussed on this site ad nauseum.

So how about this; I'll leave you to discuss what you like on here, and you'll show me the same courtesy until such a time as we both have a subject that we're interested in discussing.

nice rant, none if it based in reality.
I noticed you've totally ignored me pointing out that Redcliffe had to go out and sign an entire squad of players, and a host of Jnrs, from other clubs?
Your missing the point, other clubs can grab their juniors asap, perth not so much

What does grab their juniors mean?

redcliffe needed to sign a full squad of players despite being an established second tier heartland club for decades. I’d suggest they’ll continuing dipping into the market for many seasons to come. Perth will be no different.

I doubt any NRL club will be dipping into WA for players, not until they are established and up and running past that 5-10 period of growth, thats the point I've been making this whole time, even before the dolphins won their bid, NRL clubs had been grabbing redcliffe juniors for decades... Perth will struggle on this point, due to not being involved in a 2nd tier oR 3rd tier comp... at the moment the pirates had not been anywhere near competitive...even prior to covid.. its the one hurdle that will stop the other NRL clubs from voting them in... as opposed to a Bears or Easts owning the license and starting asap... this will be the sticking point... its all well and good to say let's have a team in Perth, but what are the benefits other clubs will recieve, other than money, what players are they producing for the player pool for everyone to use... again im happy for a team in Perth but not if they'll just be another drain on the player pool... nz2 and png won't have that issue, they have other issues, but not this important one

They made the QLD Cup Final and the u21 finals up there, Just shows how hard it is to build a team from scratch

Yes there is that as well. Really all NS or a partnership with other current second grade clubs would offer is Jnr pathways into that Perth reserve grade side. More and more we are seeing a seperation from Jnrs to NRL with kids moving anywhere they can get a shot.

We know that isn't true, Dolphins had a stack of misses and that is with local QLD guys too
