Manly has never tried to grow their fanbase. They're the most insular club in the competition. I'd piss them off interstate and let the Roosters cover everything from the eastern suburbs to Gosford. If they did it right then they could add another 5-10k active fans to their supporter base and average 20k to their games.
I'm intrigued to know exactly how much of this is Manly being insular, and how much of it is Norths (with respect to the North Shore) & the Roosters (with respect to the Central Coast) blocking Manly from spreading their reach outside their traditional area.

Roosters have the smallest junior base of any nrl club. All they have is money.

..you mean like a league which was set up in 2005 & has mostly NSW & Victorian teams?!
Here's cities ranked by deloitte based on commercial metrics;

2nd brisbane ranks ahead of 2nd Perth. Remember to use Chicago 17th citation when referencing reply tosser

Because you know what I do in times of trouble? I look to the A-League for guidance🤣🤣🤣🤣. You know that competition that nobody (pretty much nobody statistically) f****** watches.

A few things about the report.

1. What is the relevance? You know full well that the ‘commercial metrics’ you are referring to are relevant to the A-League only - pretty much like every report commissioned on behalf of a body and for a body. That’s the parameters.

You also know that these metrics are not just sponsors (as you claim) it also includes fan engagement, TV viewership and ownership. All this report shows me is that the A-League is pretty much unpopular everywhere and especially outside of Sydney and Melbourne. They even picked viable options according to these metrics (hello South West Sydney) and does anybody still really give a f*** about them. So after all this why is it relevant other than you trying to misrepresent a report’s findings by somehow suggesting that it is relevant to all sports

2. There was a never a Perth bid for a second A-League side. Slightly important fact to not mention. Most of the bids came from NSW and Vic

3. You still haven’t shown me a sport in Australia that doesn’t have a Perth team, let alone one without an Adelaide team. Sure they might not be as lucrative as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane but there is a reason why every competition has a Perth or Adelaide side. They don’t just put them there for fun; they put them there because it is financially beneficial to do so.

Is this gimp really trying to argue that Perth isn't wealthy, doesn't have one of the highest disposable income rates in the country per household and doesn't contribute massively to the Australian economy? hahahahh

Pretty much.

I have but you won't concede because ur too dumb to know when u lost. Extra money ppl in Perth have in their pockets doesn't make up for having a third of the population of Sydney. It's why gws make more than double in sponsorship.

Macau has highest population per capita. Guess they a bigger powerhouse than usa

Manly is most despised team in Sydney. That's biggest obstacle

Those figures are pretty impressive. I suspect part but certainly not all of the growth can be put down to the growth in the women`s game.
I wonder if we are starting to see the inclusion of Touch and particularly League-Tag in the numbers. Especially since the latter these days seems to be quite closely aligned with existing Rugby League clubs.
Given @Perth Red`s much trumpeted claims about the reductions in grass-roots spending the figures are certainly pretty heartening though.
No Sutherland or south /sydney city in those figures so theres heaps more, i was suprised by parramatta count tho... very low considering the area represented

And big sombreros...
They should be the only club to relocate if any Sydney team HAD to... they offer nothing to the game but their own existence

If the Sharks count the tag teams etc, like other areas have done, and they are way over 6k, maybe 7k now. Either way, second most participants in NSW after the Pennies.
Move em to Perth!!!
