Haha what like 1 or 2 juniors a year, I'm taking 10-15
A year... again with the no pokies argument, how's that relevant, dont you have your tony sage or cash converters type investors involved, what difference does it matter who foots the bill for a club to run out competitions, can even run a website apparently...

Again NRL/ARLC aren't setting up expansion sides, or competitions they are just handing out licences to those who know what it takes to run an actual club... they aren't doing that, you're mistaken if you think Perth is important to them if your not giving them anything in return of value... sure moneys great, but they'll get that thru the broadcasters and sponsors for the 18th team/9th game even if its a CC team.. which I'm not advocating for but you have to realise, your best chance is the bears

Even if a team is backed by all the money in the world, They will struggle if the side is shit.

Which 25 years of Cows, Warriors has shown players don't want to move so far away. So on field will be hard

St George Dragons are the only NRL club that wears the colours of England and is named after England's patron saint. The English Government is in the midst of discriminating against its "Indigenous" population by preventing them from flying the Cross of St George.

Appealing to patriotic Englishmen and women might help make rugby league relevant again in England because it'll provide the locals with an opportunity to say "f**k you" to the bastards limiting their freedom. There's plenty of English nationals in Australia.

f**k you're also a crazy white power racist "freedom facist" as well.

You said these players were recruited from the ARL.

The ARL didn't begin in 1995!

Here's your exact statement:

They did. Most of the players in their squad were lower graders at other clubs.

That's three players. Three does not equate to most of the squad.

So?

They were still part of the squad. Laurie Spina and Martin Bella were still locals, despite playing in the BRL and NSWRL. They were two of the few tried and tested players in the squad, although Spina had to come out of retirement.

The ARL DID begin in 1995, you racist imbecile.

f**k you're also a crazy white power racist "freedom facist" as well.

How does me pointing out that the British Government discriminates against whites by not allowing them to display the English flag -- while allowing foreigners to display theirs -- make me a "crazy white power racist freedom fascist"?

Ironically, a true "fascist" would prevent people from displaying their national flag and label them all sorts of horrible names.

What about Australians who display an Australian flag. Do they also fall under the "crazy white power racist freedom facist" banner?

You're obviously a nutcase.

You said the Cowboys recruited players from the NRL(ARL).

Their roster was signed in 1994 and possibly 1993. Thr competition was the NSWRL before 1995.

I pointed out that the ARL didn't begin until 1995.

Here's my exact statement from my original response to you:

The majority of them played lower grade NSWRL or BRL before 1995. Some played a game or two in first grade.

The ARL didn't begin until 1995. Once again you've made a fool out of yourself.

In my previous post the autocorrect on Microsoft SwiftKey changed it to "in 1995" and I failed to proof read it.

Like usual, I am right and you are wrong. Now shut up.

Relatives of mine have lived in England.

I've seen videos on YouTube of police confiscating English flags at protest rallies.

Is this a joke? Are you joking? This is just nonsense (I mean an article from 2004??)

And why the f**k, would any of this Fox News level rubbish be a reason for St George to rebrand???

You've lost the plot

That will not make league relevant again. League has always been a cosmopolitan sport with players coming from around the world. Last year the super league had two French teams. Soccer is more ultra nationalist. That's something that's caused problems for a lot of sports. League should not encourage that.

One of the articles was from 2004. The other was from 2022. They prove there's been controversy over the English flag for at least 20 years.

Here's an article from 2010:

Fury as 'offensive' England flags banned by housing association
Residents slam 'ridiculous' management

ByMirror Football

Angry residents have slammed a Housing Association after they were banned from flying England flags during the World Cup - as they could be “offensive”.

Proud England supporters at St Bartholomew’s Court riverside apartments in Cambridge were up in arms yesterday after being ordered to take down their flags.

You're the one who claimed that flying an English flag is a form of racism, white supremacy and fascism.

Does that mean @MugaB will stop pushing for a PNG team?

I don't know what ur talking about, but you must concede appealing to just one nationality limits a potential fan base. NRL should be looking to appeal to as many ppl as possible.

There's idiots on here who want the 18th licence to be awarded to a PNG consortium. The plan is for the team to base itself out of Cairns and play all of their games in Port Moresby. It'll only appeal to Papuans and struggle to attract talent from outside of PNG. It's the dumbest concept ever devised.

There were people pushing for the South Pacific Cyclones to be based out of New Zealand a couple of years ago. Matty Johns was one of them. It would be a Polynesian team.

When I suggested the game expand into new territories like Singapore I was derided by narrow-minded simpletons.

The takeaway from the responses is the NSWRL fans on here think the game should only be accessible to Anglo-Australians from Sydney and Melanesians from a third world country who cannot support a team of its own. They don't even want the game to expand into Perth.
