Real worldSo despite them directly stating they have not and will not change these non negotiables you feel they will.
what are you basing that assumption on?

So nothing. Thought so.Real world

It really sucks honestly. They are coming across as a parasite rather than as a symbiot.
They've made it abundantly clear that they'd never accept that deal. The smart thing to do is to tie up the bears now by offering them 25 to 40 percent ownership, 2 home games at nso and the name and the colours then have the 60 percent owned by one of those other rich backers
that bid would be unbeatable but I doubt Perth are smart enough to do this
Even PVL won't be able to convince them to agree to anything less than 100% ownership of the license, and they'd have the power once they got the license.Speed dial vlandys
it’s what will happen you watch
It really sucks honestly.
Went from a proud club with a strong history, to vultures that circled any sick and wounded club waiting for a carcase to feast on, to parasites without a host, and all because some people are stuck in past and can't accept the situation for what it is and try to make the best of it.
We could, and should, be the biggest second tier RL club in country, regularly pulling crowds between 5-10k, but instead we've wasted decades chasing pipedreams.
Wanna bet on this ?They've made it abundantly clear that they'd never accept that deal.
In all likelihood that deal will never be offered to them, even if it is it'll be done behind closed doors. So how could we ever possibly know who had won or lost the bet?Wanna bet on this ?
So no betIn all likelihood that deal will never be offered to them, even if it is it'll be done behind closed doors. So how could we ever possibly know who had won or lost the bet?
Besides you'd never pay up if you lost, and you'd also undoubtably assert that you won the bet even if the Bears won a license without having to move on their non-negotiables, which is a very high likelihood of happening IMO.
There'd be no point when it's extremely unlikely that we'd ever find out who the winner of the bet was.So no bet
I’m shocked Dane
absolutely flabbergasted
it could even be something as simple as one of us changes our username to iamadope lmao
It’ll be meThere'd be no point when it's extremely unlikely that we'd ever find out who the winner of the bet was.
You honestly believe after what weve read the bears will accept a minor ownership share, no games in sydney and a change to the brand? Now who’s not living in the real world? It’ll be me
and i will remind you when im right
despite your essays the bears will have to negotiate or they will get nothing
it’s obvious what they will have to negotiate
Nobody is giving them 100 percent ownership
so faced between nothing or 40 percent of something I know which one they will choose
You'd have to trawl through various expansion threads to find examples. Good luck, if you want to try.The first part is a little obtuse. I don’t know what examples you are referring to?
That's accepted. Even in the small congested setting of UK RL, promotion/relegation brings more curses than blessings. Also, promotion/relegation won’t work in Australia.
Yep I doYou honestly believe after what weve read the bears will accept a minor ownership share, no games in sydney and a change to the brand? Now who’s not living in the real world?
P and r works for soccer because there are 80 to 100 decent sized soccer clubsYou'd have to trawl through various expansion threads to find examples. Good luck, if you want to try.
Essentially, they are your responses to my repeated argument that an expanded NRL means more teams losing games each week and more clubs not making the finals each year. And the challenges that poses to a comp whose culture promotes winning and making the finals, usually to the exclusion of all else.
That's accepted. Even in the small congested setting of UK RL, promotion/relegation brings more curses than blessings.
One overlooked reason it works for Soccer is the game on the field. An impecunious Soccer club can scrape together 1-0 and 0-0 results against wealthier opposition. This affords the chance to gradually rise through the divisions in their national pyramid system.
A similar gulf in resources in RL would produce 60,70 point massacres. Impossible to make progress against that backdrop. Clubs tend to get stuck at whatever level they currently are at.
Without promotion/relegation NRL will have to find other ways to retain interest towards the bottom end of the ladder. If all supporters were as loyal and committed as Knights fans there wouldn't be a problem.
Hah of course they can, and they will be. Why? Becaus the nrl hasn’t had the balls to tell them anything different. They’re arrogant enough to believe if they dont get in now they’ll get back sometime somehow.Yep I do
bears have no chance otherwise
they can’t be that stupid
why did you change the rules ?
it’s 2 games in Sydney and the colours and name
those are non negotiable
total ownership isn’t

nope brand has to change to represent the NEW club. Name of city and some additional colour to reflect the city they now belong to. The city will only get 12 games, there will be 9 games in sydney for old north Sydney fans to go to.
None of this addresses what my concern about the bet was. My concern would be how we'd actually find out whose name the license is in, because that's what the bet would really rest on.It’ll be me

foxtel are far keener on a bears team than Perth as well
Total ownership of the license is one of their non-negotiables.Yep I do
