Penrith rebuild is a bit budget though

Hbf park needs two new stands and maybe a roof on the other

The main stand will cost a lot with all the corporate facilities bars restaurants etc

It’s not a $300m build. Penrith requires far more work done on it. Again, whoever estimated HBF at that amount has rocks in their head.

"We want yet another Sydney team back in the comp, and we'll get the WA Govt to pay for it!"

That's Donald V'landys for ya.

The WA Govt ain't contributing 2/3rds of f**k all to a code that isn't a popular vote winner.

The govt contribution is to go towards set up costs for the club not for running costs

Maybe it includes buying commercial assets for the club to make money from who knows

The issue is the arl has asked the govt for more money and it looks like themselves will be matching that funding

The Stadium upgrades were good but missed a CoE. So govt money is more than fine for things like that.

People need to wait for facts before getting outraged

All part of discussions
Looks like the only issues being discussed is how much wa govt stumps up, how much if any nrl stumps up and who the owners are

Not that big a deal I would’ve thought

Perth bears will be happening unless pvl has a hissy fit at the wa govt which isn’t likely

That's exactly my point.

After years of spruiking our expansion possibilities, we've added 2 teams in SEQ in 30 years, and looking to add one team in the poorest country in the world.

Very inspiring stuff.

1 of those sides has already gone broke in that time... shouldn't that make in criteria bar higher for any new team coming in?

I doubt this is the end …

Still extremely likely Perth will be Team 18
