especially when the club probably would have gotten back into the NRL after a few seasons like Souths did

Chalk and cheese how both clubs ended the 90's and you could argue that the lesson learned should be never to compromise.
Norths compromised by adhering to the advice of the ARL and relocating to the Central Coast, then compromised again by merging with Manly. After three years there was no club in North Sydney and no club on the Central Coast.

Souths did nothing, merged with nobody, got kicked out, went to court and then got let back in two years later despite ranking lower than five of the six clubs that merged.

ive always thought this about norths. their admins around 99 sucked and were paid out to make easy decisions that benefited everyone except their fans. but in saying this their older fans (age 30-50) back then should have voted against relocation or at least the merger. they didn't and i feel like their fan base that was between ages 15-22 in 98/99 are the ones who are currently pushing hard for reinstatement and driving their cause.

i also feel like the minority of their current shithouse fans who talk shit are between 60-75 right now and dont know hwo to use the internets properly (and never should have been shown how to use social media because they're all circusless clowns)

@Centy Coast @Red&BlackBear am i close in my assessment here??

Nah relocation to central coast was a great idea

The area links with norths areas and would’ve cut manly off

Easy train ride from any train station on the north shore to Gosford

Their combined juniors wouldve been massive as would the fan base

Manly or Cronulla should’ve been punted but Arko and News Ltd protected each respectively

A few older fans were against relocation but ultimately it was seen as a great move, especially since it was on the direct advice from Neil Whittaker so they should've been declared safe the moment they broke ground at Grahame Park.

Your assessment of the shithouse fans though is spot on.

Yep, Norths had potential to be bigger club. Problem was Manly were elite team of the league during 1990's & union still had big presence in the northern suburbs.

Manly wanted the Central Coast and were probably kicking themselves that the Bears were about to claim that amount of catchment

When the jv dissolved manly could’ve continued to split games with Gosford and focused on their (Gosford) juniors

They stuck at a dump like Brookie and did nothing about their poor juniors

Central coast rejected sea Eagles in early 2000's. Nobody likes them.
When the joint venture became Manly dominated at face value the Central Coast dumped them very quickly, crowds plummeted, the Sea Eagles had no choice but to return to Brookvale.
It was very surprising to myself, as I have many friends and know of many locals who support Manly, but Manly just couldn’t get the crowds.
To be successful all the Northern Eagles had to do was adopt red and black as their colours like Sydney North does for the public school reps which covers the Central Coast, Manly Warringah and North Sydney areas.
Manlys lack of vision destroyed a great opportunity.
1).Tom Trbojevic (Manly local junior, Manly junior reps),
2).Lehi Hopoate (Manly local junior, Manly juniors reps),
3).Bradman Best (Central Coast local junior, Manly fan),
4).Jesse Ramien (Central Coast junior U15’s & U16’s, Manly junior reps),
5).Kaeo Weekes (North Sydney local junior, Manly junior reps),
6).Keiran Foran (North Sydney local junior, Manly legend),
7).Nicho Hynes (Central Coast local junior, Manly junior reps),
8).Daniel Saifiti (Central Coast local junior),
9).Connor Watson (Central Coast local junior),
10).Jacob Saifiti (Central Coast local junior),
11).Jacob Preston (Manly junior, North Sydney junior reps),
12).Tom Trbojevic (Manly local junior, Manly junior reps),
13).Jake Trbojevic (Manly local junior, Manly junior reps).

Other players:
*Clint Gutherson (Manly local junior, Manly junior reps),
*Scott Drinkwater (Central Coast local junior),
*Albert Hopoate (Manly local
junior, Manly junior reps),
*Ethan Strange (Central Coast junior),
*Tom Starling (Central Coast junior),
*Phoenix Crossland (Central Coast junior),
*Jack Cogger (Central Coast junior).

Yes and no, there are lots of positive Bears fans out there, but there are some fans that just carry on way to much about the Bears Board, sure the Board has deserve to be called out in the past and those past Biard members have now been removed for good reason.
But when I see the current Bears board get bagged over and over again for no real reason, it just gets tiresome and a witch hunt with no substance.
That's what disappoints me with some current fans.

Royce Hunt would be it atm, it’ll come together, some potential players from the Bears NSW Cup, young WA junior rep Darius Rogers has potential.
I’d target former Central Coast players as both areas are very similar, Nicho has family in WA.

So one nrl game in Darwin brought in 4.2 million in tourism dollars

And people think the wa govt is doing league a favour
So why did the eels pull the pin?

The WA economy's GSP is $260 billion. It will get a minor benefit from an NRL team, so if V'landys wants to play hard ball Cook can tell him to jam that ball up his coit.

And the NRL's strategy for the game in the NT is...... crickets chirping.
