Started as western reds, ‘97 became Perth Reds in SL, 2005 relaunched as WA Reds in bundy and Jim beam cup.
I like this one, but still not a fan of the white background, trade that with red, and border it with black or gold, and its perfect, lettering can go gold/black too
Maybe they can incorporate the shape of the state of Western Australia on that west side of the face too... i mean its a great logo, probably needs a more open mouth tho
In any event, the West Coast (AFL) won't allow another professional football team in Perth to copy their name. If Cronulla can stop Gold Coast (Suns) 1000km away, using the Sharks nickname, then West Coast will stop a direct competitor in the same market using their name. It won't be West Coast. And nor should it.
Not sure that matters, since perth has the west coast pirates in sg ball, if AFL are that worried about the name "west coast" it'll be only for shits and giggles, not for branding issues with the eagles, i mean if sydney roosters ever tried to sue the swans or vice versa, you'd really be stretching at not allowing place names, as opposed to actual mascots
haha good luck stopping it on basis of a geographical descriptor, if they had a problem they would have arced up when the WC Pirates bid was launched.
