Jeeze it’s hard to be a fan of rugby league in Perth with some of the Perth fans on here

If it wasn’t for the bears link up I would have zero interest in the team based on how they have acted on here

and that would be a good thing lol You're hardly seen as a big catch on here for a club Maybe for Swans?

its just perthwrongs mate.

nuke, buko, dragonswest and t & t been great. all are good to discuss things with and have genuine chats. perthwrongs is a bozo and whats even worse is he runs a cave site and doesnt tell his true feelings to the bears fans that make up 55% of his member group. its cowardly to say one thing here than complete opposite there.

It is a WA club fully owned and operated just with the bears logo (which is an awesome heritage foundation brand). Don’t get why it needs to be ‘tweaked’ to make it ‘feel more WA’.

The LV Raiders is the same.
The Swans is the same.

its still a Perth club the whole of WA can get behind with a cool meaningful brand behind it rather than a generic moniker plucked out of a marketing agency.

It was 85% WA owned bid, the only non WA investors was the Sydney group who would have had 15% ownership.

If the club has to be a NS Bears branding it will fail. The consortium knew this, it has to represent WA and feel like a WA club to be adopted by WA.

I have moved on from a missed opportunity to have a proper WA club, and now wait with bated breath to see what the NRL does with it. That will determine if I bother or not with the club, if it ever happens.

Swans isnt the same. They have changed logos a couple of times to incorporate Sydney elements. Wb can tell you hes an expert on them lol

NFL is a differnet beast they regularly move franchises around cities. The almost deliberately dont change anything but name so they are free move again at some point!

They added a bridge in a tacky way to the logo but kept literally everything else the same.

the other logo change happened later. Who’s to say the bears logo can’t change later once the team is established and they develop their own culture. keep it the same and see it how it evolves later

And again this was a 100% relocation, not a brand adoption. Sydney Swans didnt play 'home' games in Melbourne, didnt keep a reserve grade and feeder in Melbourne, and didnt have any Sth Melbourne club members on the board or dictating what could or couldnt happen.

If we want WA to see this as their club it needs to look like it is. Not NS playing in Perth.

redblackbears said 0 with maybe the exception of an nrl bloke who is on the bears board (appointed recently) but isnt really a bears man. he was appointed under instruction from arlc. said he is former nrl chief financial officer and state affairs officer or something. cant see how a bloke like that with that much knowledge of how nrl is run financially and who understands state leagues would be anything but a great choice.

bears been right on pretty much the whole thing to date, cant see him being wrong with this one.
