Of course you are, but people are freely able to question other people's opinion, just as you are entitled to question theirs.

I never question others opinion. I either tell them they are right or they are wrong.

Then give them my opinion :)

Kearney seems to be the odds on favourite at this stage.
So let me get this straight.

The NRL is an Aussie competition, tho has control over the International honchos regarding player releases etc.

Kearney has been an assistant coach to Bellamy in the NRL competition, but is suddenly the most qualified we have for the job?

I like the guy, but what does this say about the coaches we have in NZ? The Junior Kiwis coaching for instance. Not good enough huh?

Has anybody actually asked Kearney if he's interested ??

I'm yet to see any comment from him and I'd hazard a guess that he his probably
not that confident in stepping up...

Yep Kearney according to what the MEDIA is telling us he is the odds on favourite.

Correct, due to the players being under contract to them.

No he is not the most qualified, but remember Asotasi making reference to Kemble about not being either an NRL or ESL coach.

Once again, the gap between JK, BC, and the NRL and Internationals is huge hence playing with Asotasi's words again, they aint good enough.

OK. As I understand it:
The NZRL may have spoken to Wayne Bennett and may, or may not, have offered him a job coaching the Kiwis.
Bennett may, or may not, have accepted and/or stated his preference not to be appointed coach but to be involved as a coaching advisor to someone else who may, or may not, be Steven Kearney. Or not.
The NZRL further may, or may not, have spoken to Steven Kearney, or someone else, about the Kiwi coaching position and this person may, or may not, have expressed an interest in the position.
Without going into specifics the NZRL will neither confirm nor deny any of the foregoing.
In the meantime Wayne Bennett will not comment, pending a statement from the NZRL.
The NZRL meanwhile will not comment regarding the speculation surrounding Wayne Bennett until Bennett has publicly stated he is interested in the job.
Steven Kearney denies saying anything to anybody.
Meanwhile Ray Haffenden says the matter is under control and there is no rush to appoint a Kiwi coach as appointing a new coach too early will only give members of the Kiwi squad who may not support the new coach time to switch their allegiance to another country.

Nobody is commenting on the matter but it is hoped by the New Zealand rugby league supporters that come World Cup time:
A. Somebody runs out onto the field to represent New Zealand.
B. He, she or they play with more pride and committment than Gary Kemble's Kiwis.
C. Somebody coaches them.
D. All members of the NZRL, and particularly Graham Lowe, are kept well away from the players. (And hopefully reporters and journalists as well).

The chairman of the NZRL, whilst refusing to comment, said his job is to run rugby league in this country, not to tell the public what is going on. He hoped the public understood this and continued to have blind faith in the Kiwi's despite their abysmal, and frequently embarrasing, showings of the last twelve months. He said it was the duty of NZ rugby league supporters to pay their money to support the Kiwi's irrespective of the teams desire and ability to play attractive football.

Have I got this right? I may have missed something in the silence.

While trawling the websites today in a fit of boredom at work found this on the "other site for RL" thought it was extremely interesting...could just be scuttlebutt but lets see what turns up huh?....Will chuckle if it is true. And will watch the next few months with interest.

Its a posting from a dude called "Naki"

Bennet and Kearny fell through! Lowey and bergman are negotiating right now....

If it is true it would seem that Lowey still has quite a bit of power still out of Beastly Street!!

Excelsior!!!!

a dude called naki - is right on the button - as this stage both bennett and kearney have passed up the oportunity to coach the kiwis in any capacity.

Both have their reasons as well as other carrots tangled in front of them in terms of potential head coaching positions in the nrl.

heres a question maybe we should ask Roy Asostasi to find another coach!!!!! Yep im hearing lowey has half-heartedly put up his ( I hope that is a joke).

 And wouldn't Roy and David be motivated by that! There'd be enough controversy to make the David Ewe sending home look like a tea party.

No!!! Now I have it on good authority that they have indeed put a list together and today they will be working into the wee hours to find the right person for the job the list I have found out (by using waterboarding on a certain "NZRL Ufficicial" is;

The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy, a dude from the beach, a person twice removed from the ex chair of the Taihape RSA, Jack the Ripper, The Great Pumpkin, Roger Rabbit, Ronald McDonald, hell anyone who will take the job...as long as NZRL and the ARL can dictate how to do the coaching and who to select.

Question though everyone, how is it that a Coach who seemed interested in working with the Kiwis can go from that to not interested after Peter(I never return calls)Cortdze and Rayray go visit him for a chat? My thoughts would be that he didn't like the conditions being imposed on him by our two monkeys...So we lost the best chance we had at winning the bloody thing...this lot are making an already bad situation worse!!!

Ohh Rayray Juju truly you really are leading NZRL into the light and out of Chaos!
By the time you go your mates will be safe, all incriminating information on your ex-NZRL mates will be shredded and the game bleeding all over the country...who knows maybe you will end up with a cushy job in Special Projects as well!!!
