You watch. Kemble will be re-appointed at twice the salary with Lowe as advisor! (But nobody will be told till a week before the world cup.)

"naki" has now said it was a tongue in cheek comment.

On the nail huh m_m_m.....

wot r u on about buddy? On the nail referring to their Bennett and Kearneys initially turning down the kiwi job.

We dont need reports or inside word to know at this stage bergman will be putting up his hand.
He will again attempt to use political manouvering to try and nab the job.

In regard to lowe he might attempt to stamp his approval to a candidate even though he should no longer have any influence at NZRL.

Maybe Asotasi and Kidwell want to be co-captain-player-coaches????

But appointing bergman - please no??? Forget the players in the NRL - Bergman barely demands much respect in terms of the local league fraternity and former players.

I would like to hear asotasi and co comments about Bergman - because if they endorse they are too full of sh*te like everybody else.

Lowey and bergman are negotiating right now....

its a sick old world alright and it wouldnt surprise me one little bit.

things have been strangely quiet for a few days now.

wheres stanaway when you need him ?

That would be it for me TBH. And yes, nothing would surprise me. The only thing that really surprises me in regard to the NZRL is my own optimism things will sort out:lol:

I think it is absolutely rude that people dont welcome new ones to this forum.

Hi Melbourne Belle.

Just watch out for Oz, Skinz and a dude called Mixer.

Bad , real bad.

Now back to the topic

THE man himself isn't giving much away, but it seems someone may know something about Wayne Bennett's rugby league future.
Speculation as to Bennett's whereabouts in 2009 has been rife after the veteran coach announced this week that 2008 would be his last season with the Brisbane Broncos.
His future has generated so much interest that bookmakers have set up markets on where he will go, and Sportingbet Australia yesterday reported three separate four-figure bets on Bennett to coach the North Queensland Cowboys in 2009.
The price on Bennett heading to Townsville has gone from third on the line at $4.50 to outright favourite at $1.33 after the Bulldogs and
St George Illawarra opened as frontrunners.
"Punters were happy to still take the $1.50 despite $4.50 being offered earlier," Sportingbet betting manager Bill Richmond said.
"We have got plenty out of him to coach the Cowboys and we could have got plenty more.
"Two punters wanted whatever they could get on Bennett to be at the Cowboys next season."
Cowboys coach Graham Murray is out of contract at the end of the season and speculation is mounting that he will be shown the door despite guiding North Queensland to two preliminary finals and a grand final in his past four seasons.
Murray took his side to within one win of the grand final last year with the majority of his first choice pack sidelined for the second half of the season through either injury or suspension.
In other betting news, former Parramatta and Wigan coach John Monie has emerged as a surprise bolter to take over from Bennett at the Broncos.

lol ... you've got as much chance of being the next Broncos coach as I have of being the first man to row across the Tasman.

I just heard the Mad Butcher on Radio Sport. He said that he would expect an anouncement with regard to the Kiwi coach this weekend or Monday - Doug Golightly the host laughed.

The MB also said that everybody will be pleased with the new coach and he he supported the coach 150% ... Bennett?

Hmmm ... that phrase "supported the coach 150%" gets me a bit worried ... it sounds like they might be opting for an "unknown" instead of Bennett or Kearney. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I'm not believing anything anymore until it's officially out! Been suckered so many times in the last year...
With MB saying he supports the coach '150%', that's the only thing that makes me think there's the possibilty it is Bluey, knowing what a fan of the guy he was. I'm still not convinced after Bluey said he'd never work for the NZRL again...!
I'd love it to be true, two fingers up at the NZRL clowns that got rid of the guy ;-)

OMG, 60 pages to say, will you coach the kiwi's.

Why didnt they post it, instead of travelling that far to hand it to him.
Shambles.
I thought Ray was better than that.
