Unfortunately that's true. VLandys will have that $600mill upfront though. They'll know the pitfalls.Vote Albo out and the PNG bid is dead, especially when tax payers learn that they are funding it.

Yet WA’s AFL teams finished 14th and 18th respectively ?, why do you think all of WA’s best athletes play AFL lolThe reason Queensland and NSW produce better players than Western Australia is because a) they have better infrastructure to nurture their talent and b) attract the best athletes. Western Australia's best athletes grow up playing fumbleball and cricket.
Spending millions of dollars on RL clubs in Perth isn't going to make the most athletic kids want to play the game. Despite all of the money fumbleball has invested in Queensland, it hasn't deterred the best athletes from choosing rugby league. Kids want to emulate their heroes. In Queensland and NSW their heroes are rugby league players. In Western Australia they worship fumbleball players.
The WA consortium has also been talking for years. But after getting burnt after being very public in 2012 they are going about their business quietly and behind the scenes this time, if expansion was decided by media attention Bears would be back by now lol
His geniusation I'm assuming. Mum and dad being siblings is a real possibility.Yet WA’s AFL teams finished 14th and 18th respectively ?, why do you think all of WA’s best athletes play AFL lol

The funding is still going to PNG anyways regardless of a 1st grade side, they are just offsetting the money that goes to foreign aid, so its not like they decided that an extra amount would suddenly hit the tax payers pocketsVote Albo out and the PNG bid is dead, especially when tax payers learn that they are funding it.
I know how I'll stop the Perth bid. I'll just spam an internet forum with absolute bullshit. With both my accounts.

But another PM may not direct it to the NRL team. The funding is still going to PNG anyways regardless of a 1st grade side, they are just offsetting the money that goes to foreign aid, so its not like they decided that an extra amount would suddenly hit the tax payers pockets
Hence why it doesn't matter, the money will still be directed to PNG... might aswell get something for league, its not like we cant hand out another licence to another area at the same time (i.e perth, nz)But another PM may not direct it to the NRL team.

The main reason PNG are getting the licence and millions in funding is because rugby league is its national sport.
How many superstars have they produced for the NRL?
I'm not talking about plodders. I'm talking elite players who command top dollar on the player market because of their skill.
The only basketballer from Perth I can think of is Luc Longley. He made it because of his enormous size.
How many swimmers, track and field athletes from Perth are Olympic champions?
How many world class golfers who've been world number 1 are from Perth?
What about tennis players?
The last great Western Australian tennis player I can think of is Margaret Court.
Sam Kerr is from Perth, but a large proportion of the Matildas are from Queensland.
Yes im sure all that cut and paste alphabetical list you've made is exactly where all the funds have been going .....this ...whole ...timeSo what you are saying is that we are going to take money away from one of the following to give to professional sports people instead of people living in poverty?
- Accountability and governance
- Climate change and humanitarian
- Defence cooperation
- Economic
- Education
- Election support
- Gender
- Health
- Infrastructure
- Justice, Defence, Law and order
- Subnational development
And people actually support that?
Yes im sure all that cut and paste alphabetical list you've made is exactly where all the funds have been going .....this ...whole ...time
But shouldn't you be arguing against it because they don't produce enough superstars? Or does that only matter for Perth?
Kalyn Ponga was born in WA, so I'll say WA lolWhich market has the most potential to produce superstars?
7 RL internationals in this years test matches. Bu yeh no hope of producing talent lolWA has produced Australia's greatest current athlete in Sam Kerr. Spend the money in Perth and you'll produce the players.
Its a dumb argument by dumb people. they want to see something in Perth that literally doesnt exist anywhere else in rugby league in australia.I have no clue why some continue to claim it as a given that Perth won't be able to produce talent.
A history or 10,000 plus players is significant, with an NRL license there is no reason why Perth couldn't not target 10-12,000 registered player very quickly. Considering we are 170-180,000 nationwide that number isn't to be sneezed at.
How can Perth generate competitive talent without a HM, SG Ball and Flegg program linked to an NRL team? With that program the pool is definitely big enough.
