Anyone see the Reds game on Fox last night against Manly from 1996?

Geez, the WACA looks like an average place to watch RL....

Mate, how much do you love me right now?! Haha! Dad taped that game for me on Tuesday night. I haven't watched it yet, but if the tape's good enough quality, I plan on burning it to dvd myself. I can make a copy of it if that's the case?

They just bought one a few weeks ago. He's not exactly comfortable with a lot of newer technology though, so it's gonna be a while before it's used properly..! Plus, I have my own house, so he tapes games off Foxtel for me (mostly Newcastle games) should I not be there to watch it when it's shown. VHS's are an easy way to get these recorded games to me.

I'll let you know when/if I get that Western Reds vs Manly game on disc.

Meninga Backs WA for NRL Team

Rugby league legend Mal Meninga believes it is inevitable that WA will join the National Rugby League. How it happens is another matter.
The record-breaking former Australian, Queensland and Canberra Raiders captain and Maroons State of Origin coach said the new NRL commission would need to make tough decisions over the expansion that was expected to include a WA Reds side within three years.
Meninga said a priority was ensuring a good spread of talented players.
"The issue is not about Perth coming back into the competition it's about how you do that," Meninga said.
"It's inevitable and it's important that WA is included in any expansion if we are going to be a truly national rugby league.

That is good news for the Perth Reds.

Wayne Bennett, Peter Sterling, Wayne Pearce and others have also endorsed the entry of the CC Bears.

Hopefully, the IC will admit four teams or inform a struggling Sydney club to have a de facto relationship with the Perth team.

I hope the Perth team will not have to rely on QLDers, NSW and NZ players like the Melbourne team and have its own juniors to progress to the senior ranks.

Also, they will not have to depend on a annual six million grant like the Melbourne team to stay competitive.

The Perth team will have to be strong for it to have a strong passionate supporter base like Melbourne.

It's brilliant.

In my opinion - not only is it the best logo of any of the bidding clubs, but it's better than alot of the existing NRL club logos.

You fellas are gonna make me blush if you keep this up..!

I'm personally happy with it, so it's nice to hear other people liking it too.
It would be pretty cool for me if that becomes the WA Reds actual logo when they make the big time again. If that happens, then I'll have the WA Reds logo, Joondalup Giants, and South West Warriors logos in my scrapbook.

I know an easier way. USB, If you have a TV with a usb port. Fits in a standard envelope.

Don't forget the Red Army's logo!
And that as well! When I posted what I did, I was thinking more along the lines of sporting teams (either professional or local), but yes, WA REDS ARMY is also one I'm happy with!

That is true, but videos are something he's used to. USB's are a modern thing he's not taken to..! I don't know if their tv has a slot for one anyway (I'm sure it would though). Plus, I see them most days anyway (I only live about 15mins away), so continuing with videos is a much easier path than trying to teach a new way..!

Found the master plan for Perth's stadium development. download the master plan here (the big file):
http://www.dsr.wa.gov.au/nibstadium

It lays out the facilities, size etc. work is due to commence at the end of this year on stage one. Good to see the large number of corporate facilties but will be a shame to eventually lose the shed standing end. I'd rather have seen this developed further as terraced standing with a full roof to give the stadium a uniqueness. Would also have given a bigger capacity. WARL will have to move out but hopefully the WA Govt will build them facilities like they have for Rugby WA and Athletics WA!

Summary
25,000 all seater
Cost $232 million
corporates 40 suites, 120 boxes, 2 x300 person lounges
3 home team changing rooms, one dedicated to each tennant team
Commencing late 2011, full completion 2018

yeh they are obviously expecting us to get a team!

They might know something we don't, if the WA Reds bid fail then they could use it as an away dressing room.

Anyway, for clarification of your first post on this topic, will there be only 3 change rooms (for the three home teams) or if there 4 change rooms (for the 3 home teams and an away sheds)?
