Well here I am on, been on a plane to Sydney so just got in to see the news!

I think from a marketing point of view it is a good choice and a very easy to market the brand. From a RL point of view I think it sucks and smacks of disneyland. I liked the Reds, meant something and actually related to WA, the Red Kangaroo was also a great marketable brand internationally. Don't mind the West Coast bit and fits with the pirate bit imo.

I'm very disappointed there was no consultation with Reds members or the Reds supporters group around this, they still don't understand that the future club will sink or swim on the engagement of fans.

Anybody recommed a new user name?

Logo is similar to Titans..

So? Penrith and the tigers are similar aswell. Saints and Newcastle both have knights on their emblem.
Took me a bit to get used to it but I really like it.

However...their cheerleaders have to dress like this...

From a marketing point of view this could really take off. Still preferred Reds, but whenever I hear "West Coast Pirates", Im thinking yep, this might work.

Name - 8/10
Colours- 9/10
Logo- 9/10

I like the West Coast name and the Pirates name is a good one that has not been used by any other Australian sporting team.
