At least putty has a place in this world.

The Bears do not.

30, 000 people beg to differ.

Again.. you + an opinion = mumbo jumbo non sense.

There's open days soon at QUT, Griffith and UQ. Feel free to try your luck at gaining some knowledge and brains.

In all seriousness, wasn't there some sort of Bears function held at one of the last games at BlueTongue, and only 10 or so thousand showed up for the game?

Now take out the fans of the two teams playing, and you potentially don't have a lot who showed up for the Bears.

My understanding is that if you wanted a team in a particular location, you would show up for whatever was on, just to show support for that particular SPORT, and then in turn get a team that you could support.

Now I am unsure as to what the 30,000 relates to, so I can't exactly comment, but I do know crowd averages up there now are pretty average (so are a lot of teams, but we are talking about new entry, not pre existing). The only other thing i could point to is member numbers. All good and well to have members but it means sh*t if none turn up to your games.

The CC locals want a team to be based on the CC. They are sick and tired of having teams that no one really supports up here coming along and playing games. Even after that the crowd averages a healthy and better then Manly, Cronulla, Roosters, Penrith, Melbourne & Canberra.

You're understanding means nothing in this area or this bid. You have NO idea on what is happening with the Central Coast Bears. I Do.

Firstly the most IMPORTANT PART of a bid is to infuse yourself with the community and receive their trust. That's the number one plan for the bid. Secondly, once infused locally then set out recruiting members and fans. That's already panning out as we speak. Thirdly, seek sponsorships. Major (nationally known) and local businesses are a great mix of sponsors and we have achieved this also.

Then the real work starts with constant lobbying and fanfare. That's where the 30, 000 comes into it. Thats the number of people GUARANTEED behind the BEARS bid now and once we're in. After that sum then include the potential new fans and supporters who'll jump on board as the season pass. That's where the 1.5 million growth area comes in.

Finally build up structures involving local clubs and juniors, programs with local schools and kids and clinics with coaches and teams. Which also are in motion and actively happening as we speak.

Once those areas are targeted and the objectives achieved, then the media will jump on board the bid (which is happening) and real momentum will start to drive the bid into full gear. More fans, more sponsors and more good media will be the result of it.

Lastly, after all is said and done if, unsuccessful the first time then try and try again. Keep the membership drives occurring in various different locations locally. Keep our name in the communities ears, eyes and thoughts. Keep setting yourself goals to achieve and keep everyone behind the bid up to date with occurrences and news.

A business plan that is self sustainable and continuous in growth is important for now and the future. Flo is making sure ours is 2nd to none. A Sports Center of Excellence is more initiative in regards to how serious we are about the CC.

You using an example of 2 teams playing that no one in an area supports is the same as taking a Manly v. Souths game to Penrith and saying (if big crowds don't come, they don't deserve a team). Which is bullocks cause Penrith is Panthers country much like the CC is BEARS country. However the last game played at CC was a sellout if memory serves correct.

Some waters you can throw anything into it and you'll catch a fish, others you need special bait to catch the fish. In this CC situation, only the BEARS will catch the fans.

I'm sorry but in this argument nor you or anyone can win against us Central Coast BEARS fans. That's right. Fans.. we actually have a fan base already, something your mind can't grasp the concept of and something invaluable to our bid. The people are the game.

Many would argue the opposite.

What are you talking about? Do you make stupid comments when you lose an argument to try and big yourself?

Seriously dude, just stop with the stupidity. Manly would argue what? That they are what is needed to get CC fans on board? They are part of the reason why the CC doesn't have a team RIGHT NOW. The CC locals have made it clear that they are very pro-BEARS and slightly anti-Sea Eagles/Knights. Not saying there aren't SeaEagles or Knights supporters on the CC, Im just saying the majority (like 90%) would barrack for the BEARS (an organization who have been doing everything in their power to get a team up on the CC fulltime) over teams who only come up here for the quick $$ and never mingle with the locals.

again for 3rd time and read it this time so your next reply isn't absolute idiocy

Bears.. yawn

Perth.. whoop whoop

A least the Bears were never cheats.

Rugby League is booming in Victoria after 10 odd years even with a club cheating the juniors are rushing to league.

Don't place league teams in AFL states for a reason to expand. VIC,SA and WA will always look at league as the game thugby.

What needs to happen in the NRL is having grounds with the facilities that the fans need and require.

We are playing in 3rd world venues. I have been fortunate enough to have travelled the world and watched soccer/union and league in many countries and we are seriously being screwed.

Manly and Cronulla need major work. The NSW government do not invest enough into these suburban grounds. Cronulla need a boutique 20 seater stadium with facilities of a 1st world country. Standing up at the end of the field is what was done in the 60s not in the 2010.
Surely Cronulla would be able to fill a 20 seater, right???

True you did. I misread it. Still it doesn't change the fact that the Central Coast Bears are working hard within the community to establish themselves and get an NRL license.

And f**k off with the personal insults you merkin.

Sorry champ but you're under an opinion (that the cc doesn't want the bears) with no facts.

Yeah hi, I used to live in Perth. What you say is misleading, there is a huge expat population and a far greater tolerance to non-AFL sports than you think. The WA Reds will be a huge success when (not if) they get in.

Ray Hadley said on radio a week ago said he didn't want the Bears back in the comp.

Think of him what you will. He is a high profile identity and people listen to what he says and takes it in (and in most cases both their heads take it in). You can't just put on the blinkers and shout 'la la la' because a handful orf people want to resurrect the wooly mammoth.

John Hammond failed. The Bears will too.

Since when does Roy Hardly represent the Central Coast? He would be quite happy for Rugby League to be a Sydney comp, he's always pessemistic.

Bozos Mate does not want a team at all on the Central Coast, as Bozo dosn't. But he can't say that, can he. Manly are running scared. They should be relishing the oppurtunity to battle the old foe.

My point was that regardless of your black and red goggled, there ARE people who do not want a CC team.

At least not over a second Brisbane team.
