Western Corridor NRL bid

It shows Bears fans to be fickle. What happens when they don't make the finals or win a premiership for decades and decades? Will they shaft the league like they have previously done?

Would you watch the sport if you had no team to support?

What's the point? Rugby League is about passion, if you got no passion you don't survive.

That passion for bears fan is so great they are still around 12 years after they lost their team, the passion for bears fans is so great they get the highest and most vocal crowds at NSW cup level.

as a fan, if you have no team you are passionate about then you can not fully support some competition if there is nothing for you to put your passion on.

I bet if the Bulldogs were kicked out for just one year, you would be the first to say "i don't care about what happens this year, i can't wait to watch my team next year"

Another interesting thing is that the website "http://bnenrlbid.com.au/" even when search in it's entirety does not appear on google....

Hiding from NEWS till the IC signed, sealed and delivered?

BTW BDGS they have a stadium and have been working on this since September is they say they have had as much time as the Jets (August 2010) and are a more suitable bid. Think about the Titans, not the strongest bid but the strongest potential long term option.

I watch many competitions without having a team. I love watching the NFL and EPL. Funny that SEQLD managed to continue to support the league when their team got booted. I think they should be rewarded for that. If the Bulldogs got booted I would be devastated. You're right, I'd probably be too upset and wouldn't watch the first season without them. I'd definitely continue to support the NRL though. Funny how so many Victorians watch SOO isn't it?

Not trying to be a smart ass but why is it as important as you say it is for the Bears to be back then???

You can't give with one hand and take with the other. Your arguments can be a little misleading.
As can his username. Perhaps it should be AngryBear.

Nice, although it keeping it quiet may work against themselves. If they can get enough community support and backing along with a strong business model and meet the NRL criteria (and if Suncorp can cop the extra load) and can produce facts and reasons as to why Brisbane deserve yet another team other then just possible long terms affects then they should get in.

I don't know much about this bid and will need to learn more to comment like every other poster, however if they do the above them they should get in. Right at the moment the favourites are still WA and the CC.

I take it you don't know the urban definition of the word applesauce: A man's shot load on an Apple computer from looking at too much internet porn or a man's shot load produced by Apple Inc. fanboys whenever a new apple product comes out, enters the room, or Steve Jobs speaks.

You mean a second? What do you think of the yet another (11th) NSW team?

Very interesting. If it's the real deal it could open up a whole new can of worms.

Jets & CQ will have to up the ante to try and become/remain the best QLD bid (overall, including TV value), let alone best bid on offer with the likes of Bears and Reds. Realistically every bid should be aiming to be the best despite the fact ebing second best will see them through.

IMO the best model would still be the Jets playing out of Suncorp stadium but targetting Logan and Ipswich for the community work, juniors etc. If they don't go with that option than this bid would be the better option IMO.

Thanks for the insight.........I think.
But what does this have to do with me thinking that BDGS is a bear supporter whose name should be AngryBear?

If you think a second team in Brisbane is "yet another", what is your opinion of yet another NSW/Sydney team?

If the audience is there then it should be filled up by a team.

Sydney is filled, other parts of NSW aren't. e.g. The Central Coast.

Loving the marketing already though "Battle for Brisbane". Would be a great local derby.

Now this intrigues me. I've always said that the second Brisbane team needs to embrace the majority of the southern corridor rather than just a peripheral town. The Jets could do that if they make their scope larger, but I wonder if that's the main goal for this rival bid?

Any idea what the NE stands for in bNEnrlbid?

BNE is airport code for Brisbane. They have just shorten Brisbane.

Oh right, didn't think of that. I've got initialisms on my brain at the moment ;-)

I guess that means they want to cover all of Brisbane then, which is good.

They would be better off covering all of South Queensland. While i like the idea of another Brisbane team, a South Queensland team could do everything another brisbane team could do but pull support from more areas. imo
