Anyway with Website and Bennett and the less then memorable Broncodroid and Sabb bitter and searching for answers the Wests Tigers power on this week. Players like Skando and Rhino have great levels of starch, we have the desire to win again this week, Saints will have to be on their game.

Square offs....

1. Brett Hodgson 1. Clint Greenshields
2. Daniel Fitzhenry 2. Colin Best
3. Shane Elford 3. Mark Gasnier
4. Paul Whatuira 4. Matt Cooper
5. Pat Richards 5. Wes Naiqama
6. Benji Marshall 6. Trent Barrett
7. Scott Prince 7. Ben Hornby
8. Anthony Laffranchi 8. Luke Bailey
9. Robert Farah 9. Dean Young
10. John Skandalis 10. Jason Ryles
11. Ben Galea 11. Ben Creagh
12. Mark O'Neill 12. Lance Thompson
13. Dene Halatau 13. Shaun Timmins

14. Liam Fulton 14. Michael Henderson
15. Chris Heighington 15. Justin Poore
16. Bryce Gibbs 16. Corey Payne
17. Todd Payten 17. Michael Ennis

Ok,
The controversy........
Elford's form has been beyond brilliant but I still think Gaz is rated higher. Same as Fats. Cooper is playing well.

Wes Naiqama is very powerful and is a huge danger, is only just slightly behind Pat.

Hornby is outstanding at the moment, easily on par with Scotty.

Dean Young is a good back rower but I found it difficult to compare him to Farah.

Ryles is in the best form of his career at the moment but Skando loves playing against these guys.

Creagh wins out in the battle of the Ben's, just.... likewise Thompson over O'Neill. It is an absolute bee's ........ as to that rating. Nothing in it.

Halatau is outstanding, better than Timmins at this stage but Timmins does do some bloody awesome stuff in attack when Barrett gets a bit lost.

Mick Henderson is their because he is Brownies punting mate. Liam is there because he can play football. No contest.

Heighington is in outstanding form and edges out a bloody good player in Poore.

Payne just gets over Gibbsy and you can't compare Ennis to Payten as one is a hooker and the other a prop.

Payten is on par with Bailey.

Cheers guys....

Looking forward to this match.
I think the Dragons will win it, but the Tigers won't die wondering. They will give the Dragons one hell of a scare. In the end though I think the experience of the Dragons rep players will shine through and get the Dragons over the line.

The important thing for the Dragons is they don't let the ability of the Tigers to scramble so brilliantly in defence to get to them. If they remain patient the tries will come. If they try to force the issue as the Broncos did the Tigers have shown themselves more than capable of holding out.

Tigers will create plenty of try scoring opportunities as is there nature. If the passes stick and the right options are taken then what a great game we'll see this Saturday night.

Payten is on par with Bailey? Which one of Bull's legs are you removing to get that result? There is a reason why many people rate him as the world's best prop, the rest rate him 2nd to Webcke.

Creagh has it all over Galea in strength, speed and skill.

Best beats Fitzhenry in every aspect, except his error rate is higher. He's run over 500m more, nearly twice as many line breaks and double the tries. He also got a massive height advantage over Fitzhenry.

The accusation that Hendo only makes the team because of gambling habits is base; Fulton only makes the team because he rings up sports radio shows to talk himself up. ;-)

Geez - I was prepared to just raise an eyebrow at some of those (Skandalis=Ryles, Fitzhenry=Best), but then I stumbled upon a couple of all-time clangers...
  • Laffranchi the equal of Bailey??? It's not Phil Bailey, you realise?
  • Prince the equal of Hornby? Pffft - a converted FB, doing a solid job, versus one of the premier half-backs running around?
  • Liam Fulton better than (Ashton Sims will play) Henderson? Fulton couldn't knock the skin off a baked custard. He's a jellybean.
  • Halatau is on par with Shaun Timmins? If you had have said Dean Young (who he will line up against most often) I wouldn't have minded, but sheeesh - Shaun Timmins?

Tigers Forward pack=mobile Dragons forward pack=not as mobile
The pressure...apart from what Trent Fugghead Barrett thinks is on the Dragons.
The Tigers could bow out this week and be very happy with how their season has
turned out..they will throw caution to the wind because they have nothing to lose.
The Dragons however have everything to lose. I'm sure all you Dragons fans will bitch and moan about what i said but the simple fact is...The Tigers have more momentum than the Dragons and i think they can beat the Dragons...the Sharks showed big cracks in their defence. C'mon Tigers!
