What if Jarryd Hayne doesn't make the 49ers cut? Will he return to the NRL?

I think in Hayne's defence, going with the 49'rs in their current state was far from the best environment to break into NFL.

He can block. Hasn't screwed one up yet. Watch the video of his famed 'miss' and you'll see whose job that was. If the niners dropped every bloke who missed a block they would've run out of o-line weeks ago.

I didn't believe you but went and had a closer look. It does look to me like the RG should have stayed on the guy in the B gap that makes the sack.

So say we are right, it means he was only really seen mostly as a PR and with his last fumble they probably lost faith in him.

The point of having a RB in pass protection is to help cover up mistakes. Hayne doesnt even get a glove on the guy. The RG misses his block, he doesnt do his job, Hayne compounds that error but completely misreading the play and not even noticing the guy come virtually clean into the back field.

Two guys didnt do their job on that play, one of them was Hayne

The standard aquarium venue?

Hopefully Hayne goes absolutely anywhere else but the 49ers. They are f**king horrendous and going backwards at a rate of knots.

A team that can actually force enough punts for Hayne to have a chance to do something would be a start. He's just throwing rocks at his very small window to prove himself in the NFL by staying there

And right on cue, Reggie Bush does his knee in the first few minutes of the game after cutting Hayne...

What you say.......wasn't it obvious before the season?

Anyone who knew what a 1st and 10 was would say that SF were going to be a basket case this season. They installed a hobo as HC, their Oline on paper was already a shambles, and they decided to gimmick on a bloke who had never played the game before.........this after recruiting another RB who was on the decline and already injury prone and having another in their 90-man roster who was coming back from long term injury.

It really isn't a surprise to anyone except overnight fans and C7 who have wonderfully packaged the worst game each week as one their 3 offerings.

What difference does it make?

It reinforces the decision to bring in an experienced RB.

A good replacement at returner is anyone who isn't a risk of turning it over each time he's called upon.

FWIW Haynes mistakes put an easy target on his back. The 49ers are crippled from the playing group up to the very top of the tree, our home grown example is the Tigers. What is interesting is that the fans and many experts feel the 49ers have acted too quickly. I feel this move is a pressure cooker response from Tomsula who is desperate for a win to keep the wolves from his door.

Hayne will be signed to the Seahawks who, despite struggling as a side have a far more professional organization which will likely help Hayne progress.

It was always going to be a gimmick but for a team lacking fit players and a positive win ratio it makes you wonder what's really going on.

No doubt, although they are even worse than expected IMO, especially on D. Teams are almost guaranteed points every drive.

I bet Hayne's management are probably wishing they went with another club instead of going where they thought they'd sell the most jerseys. The other teams that showed interest aren't going great either but at least can compete enough to have given him some good opportunity

That reggie bush injury is pretty damned funny to watch, both because the jackass could have easily stopped runnning prior to the concrete but was almost showboating and cruising to a stop, and also because it always makes me laugh to think that in a land of billion dollar stadiums and such professionalism, so many stadium designers till think its a great idea to put f**king concrete withing a few yards of the field of play.

If Hayne clears waivers, he will most likely be re-signed by the 49ers to the main squad now with Bush's injury.

I remember a young SF tram driver being interviewed, asked where Australia is he said not far from Germany . . . wonder how many Yanks actually know what Hayne can do

Hayne was never going to make it. He needed to do it 4-5 years ago so he could learn the game over a few seasons. Its so structured and strategic, he can only rely on natural ability so much. Now He'll be 30 before he if full comfortable in any position.
