i read somewhere that there is an average of 8 minutes of actual gametime in every nfl game. imagine if they bought into origin, they'd have a heart attack.
Exactly, the NFL is such a structured sport that Hayne had no chance of picking it up and running with it from day dot. He needs to spend a lot more time around the game to learn it and become comfortable. He has the ability to get there but with Tomsula under so much pressure he seemed reluctant to gamble on Hayne.
Hayne cleared waivers, so basically no other team wanted him. He will re-sign with the Niners
I'm still waiting for all the benefits from Hayne trying the NFL to arrive in the NRL.....
The problem for Hayne will be that it is not a sport that waits for players to develop. Every year there are future stars coming through the college ranks and if he fades now he won't get another shot.
In retrospect the 49rs was a poor choice as they are dire. Having said that they were exactly the sort of team to give him a go.
He's on the practice squad now...

Basically even with all the injuries, they didn't rate him enough to keep him in the 53. They'll likely sign a FA RB in the next couple of days.
does the NFL have reserves or a feeder team? i'm thinking even if hayne was on the practice squad, he's never going to improve unless he actually gets some form of game time, and if he's a liability for the main team then he'd benefit from playing at a lower level.
Nope, the only league of the big 4 not to have a professional development league, which as you pointed out sucks because if he was say trying to play baseball he would be playing on a regular/daily basis in the minors get his raw skills developed.
I can see him playing 3rd base for the White Sox in 2016...

Kap has been benched apparently.... What a fall from grace for him over the last couple seasons
