What if Jarryd Hayne doesn't make the 49ers cut? Will he return to the NRL?

I wonder what all the people that rushed out to buy a Hayne jersey are up to?

I work with someone who did. I'd ask tomorrow, but I'm not sure how well they will take this news. They've been calling for Hyde to be benched because Hayne "has shown more"

Yep the longest punt return for the 49ers since 2013 and he is a non factor in regular NFL matches.

In his second last game he also got a first down at running back which led to a TD. But plays leading to TDs are obviously not important. Hence the 49ers not scoring too many TDs.

If Hayne is a non factor. What is Davis? Or Bush? Or all of his teammates who are even less effective? Don't see them doing any better than him and without him they certainly didn't improve. They wouldnt even take a chance when down by 17 and were booed for their efforts.

Haha ok, I'm out. You haven't got the faintest idea of what you are talking about though

Probably holding onto them as a reminder that a bloke followed his dream, ignored the usual sportsperson's MO of taking the biggest guaranteed payday and running, worked his arse off to get it and achieved it. Only my guess though.

Any club will pick him up if they get the chance to. Hayne will walk into any NRL team and Rugby League team in the world.

Did I just see Pops claim there is no stamina required to play baseball, as opposed to cricket?

'Tis the off season ol'mate, as if that would make a difference to my posts. I happen to like baseball, went to Parra stadium regularly when I lived in the joint to watch the game. Who can blame players for not wanting to run around in the sun for hours/days like they do in cricket, still, it does require explosive action now and again and I did have a little TIC

Basketball is a different matter, it's one Yank sport I don't rate equal to the man in the sky, Jeep, Harley Davidson, NFL and the right to bear arms as fodder for the brainwashed and a quick way to make a dollar . . . as long as Australia doesn't take any of them seriously

BTW, I don't think golf is a sport either, so what do I know

He has been a liability. If he hadn't been fumbling they might have kept him on. His ball security has been poor.

The team routinely gets flogged. Can't score, can't defend and has a sieve for an o-line. This is a team that has more punts than they got first downs in a match.

And people blame the punt returner.

That is geniused. Even with a 100% failure rate that's only two mistakes a game. The niners simply do not force teams to punt.

The only logical answer is they've decided not to go with a returner at all. They simply don't need one.

A punt returner is one of the most expendable players in the squad. It was up to Hayne, he let himself down with silly technical errors. He is capable and might get another shot but he has to improve a lot.

Looks to me like it had more to do with duties as a RB. SF definitely need RB's. PR - not an issue.

For example - to be on the field for more plays means a deeper understanding of the playbook. All of it. Could be the depth of understanding just isn't there yet. They haven't strengthened their special teams at all with this change, but they may feel they have more play options with the RB's they have gone with.

I am with you, Storm. The alarm clock's gone off and the 'Plane's' dream is over. Come back to the NRL and help NSW as well. Back here you'll be guaranteed 80 minutes as opposed to the 4 you get over there.

I think he'll stay there at least another year. But this tweet from Jarryd is interesting.

Blessed for another test. Thanks for the love TW. Wish my guys all the best against the Rams. if nothing happens Ill be back on Tuesday✌

I'm inclined to believe this means he'll be back at training on Tuesday in the practice squad if he doesn't get picked up, not that he'll be coming back to Australia..

I'm hoping a decent team puck him up. No offence Detroit fans.

Seriously though, as bad as we are he's not going to replace Abdullah or Tate for return duties. And our O-line is bad enough without a HB that can't bloke

Not gonna act like I'm not worried though. Seeing Lion Hayne jerseys would trigger me.

He can block. Hasn't screwed one up yet. Watch the video of his famed 'miss' and you'll see whose job that was. If the niners dropped every bloke who missed a block they would've run out of o-line weeks ago.
