I love Bird, but surely $1.2 mill a season is a pisstake?

Players like Smith, Thurston and Cronk should be on that, and they have complete skill sets honed over a decade of successful football.

Milford and Bird would be great at running, but the Broncos game management and last tackle play issues would not necessarily improve.

Yeah the Courier Mail has said it less then the Sharks and Knights offer. I'm skeptical of the 1.2 million figure. Why let Ben Hunt go if you have the room to keep him?

He is competitive but ain't no game winner like others on that coin. I just hope Cronulla don't get sucked into paying overs because the players manager is pulling everyone's pud thinking he is worth anything even close to these figures. I would lol if he went to the Broncos, youse can f**ken have him.

If he plays like he did against the Storm (yesterday or in the GF!) his best position is: "anywhere on the field, just get him out there with ball in hand!".

Played tough enough to be a lock, though not a Gallen tight forward, hard metres type lock (or Corey Parker / Jeremy Smith replacement either- a bit lighter and faster than all those guys).

Jason Maher: "sniff sniff the system is not fair. Sniff Sniff the Broncos think their entitled to go out and buy everyone sniff sniff".

(Dragons sign Ben Hunt for 1.2 million a year)

Anyone can pay overs to sign someone. Only one or two clubs can get guys to take a 200k "pay cut" like Korbin sims or have the Australian and QLD lock on 200k. You guys go out sign the best players for less(under the cap) than what other clubs offer.

There is a lot of homesickness and love for that old lying hypocrite Wayne out there.....the Donkeys just provide a service to cure homesickness.

I'm not a St George but how many players did they have to offload because of salary cap issues since they where merged, Suddenly you have an issue that Hunt signed for the Dragons for 1.2 million.
Jason Maher is right the Broncos do have a flexi cap.

Korbin Sims and a Benji Marshall in his twighlight years who only got a lifeline because of his friendship from Bennett. He would either been in Superleauge or having a media career because he was not wanted.

By like you say Betcats the 'best players' and also to aide your case you tell people on this forum to 'Shut the F#$K Up" and call people 'morons'. But like many of you Broncos bashers you provide no facts except wisecracks about 'brown paper bags' and 'homesickness'. All smartarse comments and insults but no substance........

Evidence:

Ben Barba
Anthony Milford
Adam Blair
James Roberts
Darius Boyd
Martin Kennedy
Tevita Pangai-Jr
David Mead
Benji Marshall
Korbin Sims

Thats at least 10 signings in the last few years the Broncos have made where they have either poached a good young player, or signed for unders.

They were either up coming or established stars of the game. In the case of Kennedy it could be argued he wasn't much but they signed him after a ridiculous season of form at the Roosters. Both Mead and Marshall whilst at the journeyman stage of their career were established first graders who took unders to play in the local league.

Marshall was offered a lot more to stay at the Dragons.

The rest of the list is a clear upgrade on what they had there at the time. Hell they even had the luxury of signing Barba one year and releasing them the next when Wayne and Lil Wayne came back to town.

So why/how do the Broncos get these guys for a lot less than any other club could manage under the cap? Friends with Wayne? Homesickness? Brown paper bags? Do u have a better reason? Thought not...

Benji had his offer pulled so we can give you that one. And Darius follows his dad around.

But the rest are big ones. Particularly the massive unders of Roberts, Mead and Sims.

The TPA system is a joke.

The evidence is your squad dumb ass. Year after year you add or go after the best available players to a squad already full of rep players. Asking for evidence? Seriously?

Darius Boyd- actually started out his career at the Broncos and was poached by the Dragons. So why have you got him on the list?

Adam Blair- had a terrible tenure at the Tigers, in fact the Tigers agree to pay out some of his remaining contract to get him off the books.

James Roberts- was offered equal money, he wanted a upgrade on his contract from the Titans and the Titans said no.

David Mead- actually said he didn't get a formal offer from the Titans. But hey I'm sure a poster such as yourself would know more about Mead's situation then him.

Tevita Pangai-Jr, David Mead, Benji Marshall (over the hill), Korbin Sims none of these players yell stars to me. There ok some of them but there not state of origin talent unlike Gillette, Thaiday, Hunt, Parker, and Oates that are Broncos produced.

Milford and Barber are accepted. But Milford was offered higher coin to stay at the Raiders the fact he was Queensland born had a lot to do with it.

I actually think it's Bird's interest to stay at the Sharks. I've got a feeling he could be Barber starting all over again, and really wasn't in the interests of Barber and the Bulldogs for him to leave. He was great in 2012, but his 2013 form wasn't actually that good (personal problems had something to do with it) and his form carried over when he went to the Broncs. I would have much preferred the Broncos to keep Hunt then to go after Bird I just think Hunt's a better fit.

Just go to your cot and play with your toys and let the adults who know something talk about football.
