What is your most unpopular opinion about the NRL?

The average intelligence of NRL players and administrators, on-field and club officials, and supporters is two, possibly three, notches below the societal norm.

I hope there is international-news-worthy violence in tonight's origin game.

Scrums descending into madness.
Goddard flogging Johns.
Gallen flogging Myles.
Benches cleared.

That kinda shit. Chaos. Good wholesome fun.
Not to mention Steve price tko, Justin poore picks him back up by the collar and lets him drop like dead weight.

And creagh clocks the best time in history for the 100m backwards sprint.

f**k I miss fights in origin.

I'd love to see another SEQLD side, my only concern is that there wouldn't be enough support after the initial honeymoon period. That's exactly what happened to the Gold Coast Titans who were everyone's second side until a string of incidents saw them plummet and become a punch-line. They've only just started recovering from that, so I'd like to see them get back on their feet before another SEQLD side is brought in.

I also think the Brisbane Bombers would be a huge mistake. Whoever the other team is, should not represent Brisbane and should choose another part of the South East to represent. At least that way you'd be able to have that core supporter base who identify themselves through that group, instead of just a soulless entity.

While a large part of the blame can be contributed to the utter lack of Sunday games, the fact Brisbane haven't been able to break the 40K average barrier since '93 is really telling.

I don't know how unpopular it is now, there seems to have been a huge shift towards my position lately, but I full endorse the full publishing of all players salary and registered 3rd party agreements

Basket case

For a one city town with their population, I genuinely think it's an issue.

The only positive about having a second Brisbane side is that you might be able to develop a tradition of going to the football on a Sunday. So many young fans are missing out on going to the football because they simply don't get that opportunity. There was a game back in 2015 between Brisbane vs Wests which was 1st vs 16th at the time and it drew 38K with a large number of them attending their first game of the year.

Nothing generates success like competition. Need a 2nd team.

GC has a long history of failure which its slowly overcoming.

Eventually, but there needs to be a good bid put forward, something better than the Brisbane Bombers...

I liked the old corner post rule. I see no issue with an extra obstacle making scoring tries in the corner more difficult

The Arlc was brought in to help run the game and make it independent. From the moment Smith took over Ceo he was fighting for power. And it's still like that. If in a alternate universe the stakeholders (clubs/players/media) just did what the nrl/Arlc wanted for a year or 2 I think people would be pleasantly suprised.
Self interest is the biggest issue in the game.

Could the published information be trusted?

Agreed 100%. That bid seems beyond stupid to me, probably only outdone by the CQ bid, which appears to have disappeared.

The 7th tackle set. The rule was supposed to come in to get rid of negative play, any kicks outside the 20m and finds the dead ball line should result in a 7th tackle and not anything else.

Also the fact that they brought in a "new" rule about not punching in NRL and Origin matches. Well its been illegal for years, its just there was a period where referees were too scared to bin players.
