day the earth stood still - worst acting of all time. really really bad

terminator 4 - someone said earlier on that it added little/nothing to the series. i have to agree. sure there were some good action scenes and it focused more on the humans v machines fighting, but what really changed from the start of the movie to the end? the humans were still battling machines etc....without ruining it i dont see how it changed apart from a lame attempt to insert a new angle into it. i think they are running out of ideas

At the end (spoiler below)
"i was expecting it to lead into the first terminator with reese and arnie both going back in time. But i guess they might save that one for the big finale in Terminator 6, i am pretty sure they are making 2 more. Plus reese wasn't a teenager in T1 either."

....IMO AP is one of THE best movies EVER made. watch it mate....if you dont like it ill refund you the dvd price!

I'll happily watch it. :)

Is it different from the novel? I thought the book was just violence for the sake of it, even though the author claims he was making comments about society blah blah. I thought he was merely trying to shock, which is why I didn't enjoy the book.

The book is ridiculous - 5 pages of descriptions on how he tortures and kills people...Meh.

I'll check out the film for sure.

Like the book, it's a satire of the yuppie culture of the 80's (mainly the self obsession and superficiality).

If you didn't see the humour in the book you may miss it in the film too (while reading the book I was actually laughing out loud at the scene in the zoo with the little boy "Would you like...a cookie?").

I may enjoy the film because it's no attached to the author per se; in my honest opinion, the author wrote the book, overly-visualised and stylised the violence on purpose and then claimed there was a hidden meaning to it all.

Maybe there was, in the end - but the impression I got from reading it was that it was done purely to shock.

But the film, even though it's based on the novel, could be different, so I'm happy to give it a go.

Going to see it on Sunday night. Heard nothing but good things about this film

Saw it yesterday. I'll stop short of calling it hilarious like I've seen it called in quite a few reviews over the last week. Nevertheless it is one of the funniest movies I've seen recently.

Suprising it doesn't rely too much on crude humour. Sure there is some in there but not nearly as much as you might expect. Zach Galifianakis, who plays Alan, steels the show though.

Saw Terminator. Really good, but its still no T2.

I wouldnt say really good, but good, few twists in their that I liked however I cant seem them topping T2.

And like everyone said, didnt really add anything new to it.

Was suprised at the era of it, and sort of destroyed my perception of skynet. - I was under the impression it totally dominated every city/town ect.
