I just couldn't 'get into it'
Understood.
I mean, I can't really berate you or anything given it's essentially a popcorn flick with a terribly campy style and some occasional word-play.
Personally I found it enjoyable. I largely attribute my enjoyment to the work of director Edgar Wright who did a great job in capturing the vibrant nature of the graphic novels.
I enjoyed the adaptation of the seven evil exes and how each sequence was presented in the movie. I've only gotten so far through the comic books but I can tell you the second and third ex fight has been enhanced significantly.
I only had two problems with the film...
Michael Cera as Scott.
And the weak characterisation.
But none of those aspects were enough to offend me.
But yeah, I thought given the way you were carrying on, something had really offended you beave...in the end it just sounds like you couldn't get into the flick while others could. I doubt it's the end of the world.
