I rewatched this recently and it seemed like something was missing because I distinctly remembered a missing scene with Miss Teschmacher being fed to the babies by Otis. Turned out the only version of the original Superman that I had previously seen was an edited for TV version that runs over 180 minutes and aired over two nights.

Here is the scene. to be honest i don't remember it being in the original theatrical cut back in 1978.

Being The Ricardos

Interesting pic about Lucille Ball, which focuses on how Lucy went from being a B grade actress in B grade movies and how it lead to a radio contract which lead to the Lucy Show, it also focuses on Desi's infidelities and trying to clear Lucy's name when she had been labeled a Communist by the press. Nicole Kidman does a decent job as Lucy and is believable in the part as she does not try to copy Lucille Balls mannerism's, there are times she does capture the voice perfectly but J K Simmons as William Frawley is the stand out performance in the film, his scene with Kidman in the bar is so subtle but brilliant at the same time.

Yeah I went and watched the TV cut immediately after realising the theatrical cut was missing a whole bunch of scenes.

All the additional scenes with Miss Teschmacher were worth it, the rest, not so much.

The Climb 8/8.5 a different sort of buddy film that doesn't really go anywhere but is a fun journey.

Superman ( 1978 )

Haven't watched this in full since i saw it on its theatrical release in 1978, noticed it was on 7 Mate tonight so thought i would give it another go, great start with with Marlon Brando, Susannah York and Glenn Ford then everything just turned to dross as i remembered it from 1978, better half has never seen it and we just sat there and laughed at all the unintentional comedy.

My God Superman 2 is on now and i'm not going to subject myself to it even though i did enjoy it when i saw at the movies.
Different tastes and all.....but you may be the very first person I know that has bagged the first Superman movie. I loved it.
I bought a steel case bluray set of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies and watched them over the break.

Superman: Superman....like your experience, I had never really watched the movie from complete start to finish for some weird reason until a few months ago. I LOVED it! To me, it was such a well told and carried out movie. I appreciated it more than I ever have after my most recent rewatch to be honest.
Superman 2: My favourite superhero movie of all time.....without question and without a second thought.
Superman 3: Every single person on the planet hates this movie....except me. I loved so much about it...Reeve, Pryor, Vaughan, the humour the movie had, Pamela Stephenson, Superman fight...I truly enjoyed it and still do.
Superman 4: This is where I draw the line....lol. Absolute disaster from start to finish. If you ever get a chance to listen to the audio commentary for this movie, do so. FAR more entertaining than the film itself. I have NEVER heard an audio commentary that bags a movie more than this one. I've heard some movie commentaries that have some playful digs at a movie here and there.....but the audio commentary in this movie absolutely pulls no punches...open and honest about the many disasters that surrounded the whole production of this movie.

Would have been about 15 when i saw it at the movies back in 1978, both me and my sister more or less said what a lot of schlock when we left the theatre , my sister started laughing when Superman got the cat down from the tree for the little girl.
Its funny, i hadn't seen it since 1978 and my better half had not seen it all but i remembered every thing that was about to happen and have to admit it gave me a good laugh watching it again, a lot of them were unintentional laughs.

Superman 2 i did like though.

Death on the Nile- a big fan of the 1978 version of this film so wanted to see how Kenneth Branagh's version stacked up against it and i was quite impressed , the base characters are the same as the 1978 version but all have subtle differences, Gal Gadot and Annette Bening were the standouts and Branagh was fine as Poirot, over all it was more polished than the 1978 version but the CGI shots of Egypt and the Nile were at times distracting and minus's from the experience a bit but over all its a very enjoyable 2 hrs.

Watched a movie on Binge last night called The Inventor Blood in Silicon valley. Basically a documentary about a founder led company with a strong vision but the product wasn't there, and the lies and self delusion that led it far and above its actual value.

Very good 8.5

Is this the Elisabeth Holmes story?

I'd be keen to check it out if so, it's an interesting story.

There's a mini series out soon about Elizabeth Holmes too called the dropout.

Fracture with Anthony Hopkins, Ryan Gosling and Rosamund Pike. Watched it over five times now and it never gets boring.

A lesson in how to f**k over the guy who's been f**king your wife.

8.5/10

Yes, that's the one.

It had been on my watchlist for a while and glad I finally got around to it.

Simmons is always a standout performer.

I watched Worth on netflix last night. Chosen solely for the reason Michael Keaton was the lead. Interesting drama about the aftermath of 9/11 and trying to compensate families for economic loss. A bit slow, worth watching and Keaton carries it.

Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte

Hot on the success of What Ever Happened To Baby Jane Robert Aldrich wanted to re team Bette Davis and Joan Crawford for the Grande Dame Guignol horror of Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, both ladies signed on with reservations but in fighting started between the two stars and Crawford booked her self into hospital and the production closed down. Eager to get on with the movie Aldrich re cast Crawford's part and Olivia De Havilland stepped in and what you got was an amazing gothic horror shot in glorious black and white. Bette Davis plays Charlotte who is suspected of murdering her lover many years before hand, the fine line between Charlotte's possible madness and sanity is beautifully played by Davis but is more than matched when Olivia De Havilland's character turns up as the sweet appearing but subtly evil cousin Miriam. Many twists and turns and a funny but great performance by Agnes Moorehead playing Charlotte's white trash house keeper and also a stunning performance by Mary Astor as Jewel Mayhew who is another key character in proceedings , Astor has only two brief scenes but is amazing in both of them. Great performances by these amazing ladies are rounded out with Joseph Cotten, and Cecil Kellaway, with Victor Buono, Bruce Dern, George Kennedy and Wesley Addy in smaller roles.

At times unbelievable but it totally hooks you in for well over 2 hours and the back story behind the movie is just as compelling. One of my favourites,

Licorice Pizza

Overhyped garbage. Th worst film I've seen since Chaos Walking. Also, this movie would be completely panned if the genders were reversed.
