Gulp....Im a massive Arnie fan......yet for some unknown reason, I have not seen "True Lies". I've never had the real will to see it....yet, I will track a copy down. I need to watch "The Last Action Hero" as well.....only watched about 20 minutes as a kid and didn't like it.

True Lies was f**king awesome, but it was also the final movie of his golden run in Hollywood. It was all shit after that.

"The Farm".....lol. It is on Amazon Prime. A very flawed movie......but I was in no danger of turning it off for some morbid reason. All I'll say is, if you like "The Human Centipede", give this movie a go. If not, don't turn it on.

Last Night in Soho 7.5

I liked it. Couple of twists and generally well told and acted. Boyfriend was a bit desperate and ending didn't quite ring true but not bad.

The Northman 6.5. I really like some of what Eggers does, but all the symbolism he puts in gets a bit much.

This could have done with a lot less of that for mine.

Way longer than it needed to be.

Saw Thor: Love and Thunder yesterday. It was ok but not great. The comedy was over done in my book whilst some of the plot could have been better fleshed out, or certain characters given more screen time (e.g. Gorr). I'd give it a 6/10.

The Gray Man: Netflix original film made by the Russo brothers.

It’s been absolutely panned by the critics so I was hesitant…

I enjoyed the f**k out of it… I can definitely see the criticism’s about it being a generic spy action thriller… it most certainly is that.

but so is pretty much every bond film, mission impossible sequel or borne stupendously blockbuster…

You have your main protagonist/secret agent who goes from one amazing action set piece to the next… with a hot female sidekick most instances.. and to me the way i ultimately judge the film is on how great those set pieces are…

and those set pieces are f**king AMAZING… I don’t know how much the budget on Netflix films are these days… but they didn’t skimp on costs on this film… it maybe a Netflix film but the set pieces looked like they were straight out of the latest mission impossible or bond film…. It could easily have played in cinemas.

Overall i thought the film was great… the Russo’s have a real gritty action style which I enjoy… they best used it in Winter Soldier before the rest of their work became too superpower CG heavy.

Gosling was a good leading man… didn’t do anything wrong… was likeable and certainly has charisma to carry a film like this.

Chris Evans was great as the douchebag villain who is think the Russo’s purposely turned up his doucheyness to a 10 to create that contrast with the other prominent character he played for them… 😂

I think the Russo’s were taking the piss a little bit… some of the music at certain times sounded made look very much like a Bond film… 😂

I’ll just say if you like these spy thriller type films I reckon give it a shot.

I actually saw it in the cinemas, it was released for a week before it dropped on Netflix and there was nothing else I wanted to see on my usual Monday cinema trip.

I thought it was a fun serviceable pretty silly action film.

I don't follow critics aside from two movie podcasts and they didn't give it a kicking.

Yeah… unless I totally missed it… they were pointing to the ‘old man up stairs’ who was supposedly pulling the strings but that seriously went nowhere… 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

building for a sequel perhaps?? I saw a rumour that it might be in the same universe as that extraction movie with Chris Hemsworth… that would be pretty f**king cool if they crossed over IMO… 😂😂

I thought it was a great action flick if a little long. Gosling was excellent and Ana de Armas is stunningly beautiful.
The story is very similar to the last Bond flick but I enjoyed this more. I agree the Russo's were having a bit of a laugh at the expense of Bond films but they did it with humour and style. 8/10
